Description
Brief summary of the bug
No water flows in brew mode when the steam switch is engaged
Describe the issue in greater detail
When the physical steam switch is engaged but brew mode is selected, engaging the brew switch starts the process - but no water comes out. The pump works, pressure is build up - but the group head stays dry.
This happened by accident, when I forgot to disengage the steam switch after foaming milk.
I selected the brew mode, got my puck ready, and flipped the breaker switch while the steam switch was engaged accidentally from before.
This is merely a user mistake - but maybe switching to water mode when both switches are engaged (as suggested in #285 ) might be a good solution.
Are you able to reproduce the issue?
Yes
Steps to reproduce
- have the steam switch engaged, but be in the main menu. Probably by switching the machine off with the switch engaged and on again (but this might not be needed).
- go to the brew mode
- start brewing with the brew switch
- notice that no water flows out of the grouphead.
Expected behavior
The machine should not pretend to make a shot, but rather make the user aware of his mistake.
However, I don't think displaying an error message or similar would be good.
Instead
- either switch to water mode, as suggested by [Feature Request] [GCP] switch to water mode when physical brew & steam switches are pressed #285
or - don't do anything, even not engaging the pump. Thus the user will check the machine and wonder.
