  • Consider implementing 8x downsampling for VarDCT frames at least.
  • How should it interact with various filters and rendering features?
    • Maybe Gabor-like filter and edge-preserving filter can be skipped.
    • I think patches and frame blending should be handled.
    • Non-separable upsampling depends on downsampling factor.
