about
This is my best Queen impression. The song felt more potent when I wrote it in 2023, but I'm glad I decided to give it the full band oomph with Erik Groysman and Kevin Brown in 2024.
Recorded at Loveboat Studios. We played the song live a few times, took the best drum take and built on that. Erik definitely pushed me to get the 2nd and 3rd choruses to be where they are and I'm thankful for that.
lyrics
My dear I can't decide
If I can let you stay
It seems I can't decide
A single thing these days
Our ship has been capsized
There's nothing left to tow
I hope you stay afloat
Now swim to shore
Don't look back
Now go
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Before it's gone
Keep moving through the pain
I'm moving on
We wrapped ourselves in doubt
For the best part of the day
Then somehow we spun out
In circles
Oh those circles of decay
I know the pain you're hiding
Performing another show
I know there's words residing
Deep inside your throat
Now let em go
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Before it's gone
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Before it's gone
Keep moving through the pain
I'm moving on
I'll always miss a little part of
Swimming in your waves
I hope you open up your heart
Don't let it get away
There's nothing left to criticize
You've heard it all
You've had enough
You'll burn it down
With no one left to blame
Go
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Before it's gone
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Get out of your way
Before it's gone
Keep moving through the pain
I'm moving on
