Shisha Ranni is a traditional festival deeply rooted in Goan culture in Canacona. During this ritual, rice is cooked atop the heads of three Gades, which are humanoid representations of divinity on earth. Interestingly, the term ‘Ranni’ directly translates to ‘stove,’ emphasizing the central element of this ceremony.
 
In a remarkable display of devotion, three villagers from Canacona taluka’s Gaondongorim voluntarily offer their heads as makeshift stoves for cooking rice over a wood fire.
