The real Brazilian electronic music isn't the one that we release, let's get straight. The music that bleeds from the periphery in forms of funk, electrobrega, pisadinha and other genres that aren't part of our vernacular is the real deal.

On this two-track single Rico embraces those rhythms not as a tourist, in the very Brazilian tradition of "eat and throw up" as opposed to digestion.

There's also a central theme around those tracks: a cure. As Rico says: the "drugs" that we consume, give us the right escape from the uncertainty of tomorrow's struggles.

If we joint both dots, we get the vision that the weekend that isn't exclusive for the higher classes that pile into the designer drugs listening to the latest trends, but also part of the life of people that get happy in dirty dancefloors drinking warm cachaça after a week full of hard work and delusions.

Without saying a single word, Rico is about to release a very political single in very political times.

A verdadeira música eletrônica Brasileira não é a que nós lançamos... Pronto. A música que sangra da periferia, como o funk, eletrobrega, pisadinha e outros gêneros que não fazem parte do nosso vernáculo, elas são a verdade.

Neste single, Rico abraça esses ritmos não como um turista, mas sim como um glutão dentro da tradição Brasileira do "comer e vomitar"; nada de digestão.

Não contente, Rico trabalha um tema em torno destas faixas: cura. Usando suas palavras: as “drogas” que utilizamos urgem como devidos escapes das incertezas do nosso pão do amanhã.

Juntando ambos pontos, é formada a visão do final de semana que não é exclusivo dos mais abastados que se encontram em torno de drogas sintéticas e novidades, mas também parte da vida das pessoas que dançam em pistas de terra batida e bebem cachaça quente, depois de uma semana de trabalho pesado e desilusões.

Sem dizer uma palavra, Rico está para lançar um single extremamente político em tempos extremamente politizados.
