Security Fabric Company Realm.Security Secures $5 Million in New Funding

We are excited to share the news of our seed investment in Realm.Security, Inc., a security-focused data aggregation and analytics platform built for enterprise security teams. While the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) market is expected to reach $17 billion by 2029, it has more recently been slow to evolve, causing frustration for security teams. Realm’s product sits in front of existing SIEM platforms to provide greater real-time contextual insight to information security analysts and reduce the high costs of traditional SIEM usage, ultimately accelerating the market’s evolution and transforming the cybersecurity industry.

In today’s workflow, SIEM products such as Splunk (Cisco), DataDog, Elastic, and Microsoft Sentinel ingest data from various sources and store it in a normalized format within a database. Once the data enters the database, security teams are responsible for manually sifting through and prioritizing potential threats. A 2023 survey from Gurucul found that security professionals receive upwards of 1,000 potential threats in a single day, leading to overwhelmed employees and heightened security risks. Not to mention that because SIEM products are priced on data volume and usage, costs quickly skyrocket for large organizations with abundant data sourced from many locations.

The team at Realm is building a platform that will intelligently filter data before it enters the SIEM, ensuring that only the most relevant and important data is stored in the system, drastically reducing usage costs. The solution will also leverage artificial intelligence to filter and prioritize alerts and provide prescriptive, real-time, actionable advice to information security analysts.

As tenured experts in building and selling cybersecurity products, Realm’s founders uniquely understand the pain points faced by security teams today. The three founders all previously worked together at Confer Technologies (acquired by Carbon Black). Realm’s Chief Technology Officer, Jeff Kraemer, founded Confer Technologies and has spent over 35 years building products at companies like Raptor Systems, Okena (acquired by Cisco), and Joinder (acquired by Brightflag). Peter Martin, Realm’s CEO, brings go-to-market expertise as the previous Director of Enterprise Sales at Rapid7 and VP of Revenue at Oort (acquired by Cisco). Finally, Realm’s Vice President of Engineering, Sanket Choksey, has over 20 years of experience building distributed data systems at companies such as VMWare and Parrot AI.

We are thrilled to welcome Realm.Security to the Glasswing Family and support its work transforming disparate data into a unified, intelligent entity that saves security teams money and time, while increasing protection.
