bones and all opens with an unsettling yet intriguing premise, but as the story unfolds, i felt that it steadily loses its way. the idea of a cannibalistic coming-of-age story holds so much potential. unfortunately the execution feels shallow and disjointed, specifically in its main characters development. Maren, our main character, has a tendency to only eat people who show her affection, and this could be a fascinating psychological piece of the story BUT it becomes almost completely…
