This Practical Life activity develops concentration, independence, and coordination of movement, strengthens the hand and fine motor muscles in preparation for writing, helps us to understand where food comes from, and allows us to use multiple senses to smell the orange, taste the juice, and feel the texture, weight and shape of the orange. Washing the dishes and returning the tray to the shelf is part of the process. Photo (c) of Miniapple International Montessori School

the lemons, oranges and lime party taste activity is ready to be eaten

Slices of lemon, orange and lime, clean drinking water, scoops and spoons were used for the set-up the infants and toddlers would love. They will enjoy scooping and squeezing and tasting the lemons, orange and lime slices because they're always curious and love to explore with their senses and develop them. This activity gives the children a sense of freedom, fun and enjoyment. You can also use grapefruit, apple, kiwi, starfruit and other fruits to create the party/taste sensory activity.
