It’s important because the joint compound will dry a bit yellow, so you need the chalk paint to get it the color you want. We chose Shiplap as our color. But you can get creative here! I’ve seen black. I would love to see someone do a more bold color because it would also turn out so awesome! And that chalk paint you have leftover?! Well I continue using it on home projects. It’s also great for refinishing furniture."
