Set of 2 Japanese vintage medicine boxes / First Aid Kit Box / Japanese collectibles

Beautiful wooden medicine storage box used in Japanese households, from the early Showa period. The box is made from Paulownia wood and has a big Daikoku print on the top from the medical supply company. The drawer is made from solid cardboard and has a metal handle. Those kinds of boxes were very popular and used all over Japan in the first half of 1900. They contained all the important first-aid items and regular medicines. Every month a person appointed visited and restocked items that needed replenishing in the home to keep it complete. Such a lovely and meaningful collectible!
