colder Summer began as a piano piece written by Grete's keys player, Charlie. She was inspired by the dark emotion of the music to add a soaring, vulnerable melody, matched with lyrics detailing a negative time in her life. The glue of the song is the production - what started as a barebones, minimal piano-vocal track became a tear-jerking, all encompassing plea of desperation.
lyrics
Windows are open we will need to breathe.
Lungs full of dust we’re packing soon to leave.
How did we start to fall apart,
Stones been trembling from the start.
Right in our faces lights were never green.
Filling my suitcase running to my dreams.
How did we start to fall apart, no
I don’t think I lost my heart.
How did we start to fall apart
I already miss your charm.
Under my pillow I hide all my fears.
Open it up and you’ll find all those years.
But where would you keep it if I gave it all, no.
And where would you store it if mine gets too small?
How did we start to fall apart, no
I don’t think I lost my heart.

If you like jazzy, soulful, r&b music with some spice, you're in the right place!
Their sound keeps getting bolder and more delicate. I love hearing the singer's increased vocal exploration. Some songs popped right away, others came to me more gradually. A substantial effort! Tyler Keyes
One of those rare timeless albums that you’ll never forget. Every single song is filled with immense emotion and beauty. A whole life in audio format. One of the few albums I can say is an actual 10/10 ericsublett
