PB Polar Bear

 Hello and Happy Fall!

It's been a bit again since I have been here,  but I have been busy working on Christmas cards when I can.  I got the new PB Polar Bear (Penny Black, not peanut butter) and had to give him a go.

I initially stamped the image in a light blue gray color and then colored with Copics.  After coloring, I stamped the packages and facial features in black ink.  I used the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for the card.

I turned the sketch upside down and then used a strip of a gel plate print for the background.  The sentiment is from Creative Worship Stamps.

Simple Sympathy

 Hello Again!

The sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Challenge is one of my favorites so I had to play along.

We have some grey skies so getting a good picture was not in the cards today.  I kept it simple but colored, fussy cut and used a technique I have not used in a long while.

Here is the sketch~

I used one of my favorite Altenew sets; sadly I think it has been discontinued.  I colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I took a strip of drywall tape and rubbed a distress stamp along it and then stuck it to the card panel.  I 'painted' a bit of alcohol over the inked tape to give the ink a bit of a distressed look, but not so much as one would get with water.

Lovely in Lavender

 Hello Friends,

I love this stamp from Altenew.  I don't usually use purple much, but I decided to give it a go and love the result.

Stamp is Majestic Bloom, stamped with Memento Ink, colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  The leaves are from the Wallpaper Art Stamp Set (which is currently 20% off).  They are stamped in Lava Rock ink from the Warm Grey Cube Set.

A layer of patterned paper and a beautiful sentiment from Stamp Simply stamped with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink finishes this CAS card-it is one of my classic go-to card sketches.  Versafine Claire in is by far the best black in for deep, rich black color, only one or two stamps needed for solid images, and is now my go to for sentiments.  Never thought I would switch, but here we are.

CAS Sympathy

 Hello,

Sympathy cards are always hard to do.  I try to have some made up in advance.  A friend requested some as well, so I am trying to create a stash.

The IO Magnolia Slimline Stamp is still my go to and lives on my desk top, lol.  I love the versatility of it.  This is a one layer card, using a stencil, stamp and sentiment stamp.

The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  I then stamped a mask as well, fussy cutting it out.  With the mask applied, I sponged on some grey-brown ink.

Then the mask was removed and I colored the image with Copics.  I used the color palette from Sunday Stamps~

The sentiment is from the With Sympathy Stamp Set from Avery Elle.  The entire panel was die cut with Divinity Design's Pierced Rectangle Dies.

A few sequins were added for sparkle.

I am linking up to Simply Clean and Simple March Challenge and the March Stencil Fun Challenge as well as Inkspirational Challenges- clean and simple.

CAS Mixed Media

 Hello, Hello!

I hope everyone is staying warm.  Not only is it cold, cold, cold but it is a 3-day weekend as well.  Perfect for relaxing in the craft room.  I spent a little time watching some videos from Jennifer McGuire just to break out of a crafty rut.  I gave her mixed media panels a try and absolutely love how they turned out.  I only used a small strip of a panel on this card, but it really makes the card!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I love Cecile's very CAS style and had to give it a try.

I used my Altenew Dotted Swirls Debossing Covering Die for the background panel.  The butterfly is from an old SB card kit.  I die cut it from mirrored gold cs.
I had a couple of distress ink strips left over from another project and they worked perfectly with my mixed media panel.
The mixed media panel uses distress inks- cracked pistachio, salty ocean, and peacock feathersSnSS Going Postal Stamp Set, an old stencil, Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment Ink, clear embossing paste and a Tim Holtz stencil, and some shimmer spray.
The sentiment is from the SnSS Birthday Wordfetti Stamp Set.  I used Memento Teal Zeal Ink for the sentiment.
A few sequins finish the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Stay warm!
