Easter Gnome

 Hello All!

It's spring break week for me and the weather is perfect for yard work and all things spring.  I did a little crafting to celebrate my first official day off.

I used a sweet little gnome die (IO Stamps Easter Gnomes Dies).  I have him holding a tulip which I die cut with Spellbinders Artful Tulip Dies.  The background is stamped with the IO Wildflowers Slimline Stamp.

The whole thing is framed with a MFT Stitched Rectangle Scalloped Edge Frame Die.  Sentiment is SnSS.  A few SSS Moonshine Sequins finish the card.

Tip Toeing Through the Tulips

 Hello All!

Spring has finally sprung and Easter is on its way.  I used some dies and one of my favorite slimline stamps for this card~

This adorable little gnome is tip toeing through a field of pink tulips, looking for a place to hide his egg.  He is one of three in the set Easter Gnomes from IO.

The tulips are from one of the newest Spellbinders die sets,  Artful Tulips.  It is all backed with a panel stamped with one of my favorite background stamps, Wildflowers Slimline from IO.  I love using this stamp for scenes like I did HERE.  Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment, which is from snss 's Rustic Easter Stamp Set.

Enabler ALERT!  IO Stamps entire website is 20% off this month!

I am linking this card up to the following challenges~

Spring Gnomes

 Hello Friends!

It is April and Easter weekend already.  Before Easter is here and gone, I had to share these adorable Easter Gnomes!  I used the chocolate bunny hold gnome on this card because, well, CHOCOLATE!

The gnome was die cut out and all of his parts colored with Copics, then glued together.  I gave him a flower field to enjoy his chocolate in; I used the versatile Meadow Floral Stamp Set, which is actually a slimline stamp, but works equally well on a regular A2 sized card.  In the foreground I used the slimline Grass Set.

I placed my gnome on the card and added some bits of grass using the Sm. Grass Border Die.  The panel was added to a kraft card base and embellished with various strips of cs.  Stitching detail was added to the light pink cs with the Border Stitching Die.  Lastly, the sentiment from the Some Bunnies Stamp Set was stamped in IO Black Ink.

Old is New with Impression Obsession

 Hello All!

Spring has finally arrived.  Can I get an Amen!?!!  While it was fairly mild, this winter seemed to drag on!

Today the Impression Obsession Design Team is giving some love to older IO stamps. You can see the list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog.

It seemed to be a perfect time to get out this absolutely adorable Garden Bunny.  I do tend to gravitate to realistic images so this cutie was right up my alley.

The image was colored with Copics on Neenah Solar White Cardstock.  I stamped a sentiment from the oh so adorable Some Bunnies Stamp Set.  Then I gave the bunny a little greenery to rest on- I used the Hill Landscape Layers Dies for this and then added in some grass with the Small Grass Border Die.  3 sequins finish it off!

I am linking up to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge- I have used die cuts, green and leaves, as well as Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes.  Lastly, I am linking up to Inkspirational Challenge for their Fur or Feathers Challenge.

Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for more inspiration from the team~

Easter is on It's Way!

 Hello Everyone!

It is spring break here, and I have been enjoying getting things done around the house (if enjoying that is even possible!).  And out weather.  It.  Has.  Been.  Beautiful!  And the daylight savings thing happened.

Spring is officially here!  And Easter is right around the corner.  I am looking forward to celebrating our risen Lord and Saviour!  I did have to sneak in some more bunnies though.  These bunnies from Impression Obsession- oh my goodness.  They are so stinking' cute!  Some Bunnies just had to fall into my cart.

These cuties were colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I created a fun little scene in a soft pink and brown color palette.  The slimline stamp, Wildflowers, was the perfect backdrop for these sweeties.  I stamped the flowers in Frosty Pink ink from Altenew.  I added grass using the slimline Grass Set stamps, stamping it in Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  The sentiment is from the same Some Bunnies Stamp Set.  I added a few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins to finish the card.

I am linking up to Inkspirational Challenge - Fur or Feathers, as well as Addicted to Stamps and More Make Your Mark and The Mod Squad Challenge, Springtime Bunnies.

Thanks for 'hopping' in!

Spring Has Sprung!

Warmer temps, sunny skies.  Signs that spring really is coming!  The new release at Sweet n Sassy Stamps is full of fabulous spring goodies!

My favorite is this adorable set, Hoppy Spring.

Isn't he just the cutest??!!  I stamped the eggs first-I had a different idea for them that did not work, so on to plan B... They were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White CS and then fussy cut out.  Ditto for the bunny.  If you are not into fussy cutting, there is a die set available as well.

To ground the bunny and eggs, I stamped a floral image from the Long Stem Silhouettes Stamp Set, using two different greens and doing first, second and third generation stamping. Then I added a sentiment strip that was colored in ombre fashion using Copics.  The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink in my MISTI so I could get perfect placement.  I used two different sentiments from the Hoppy Spring Stamp Set to get my sentiment.  Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins finish off the card.  I did add Wink of Stella to the eggs, but it does not show up in the photo.

Hope I inspired you!  Thanks for stopping by,

Sweet n Sassy Stamps February Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to the Sweet n Sassy Stamps February Release Blog Hop where we have some great inspiration for you with the new stamps. Don't forget to leave comments along the way to be entered for a chance to win a $25 gift voucher from the Sweet n Sassy Stamps Store.  Winner will be announced February 24 on the snss blog

My favorite stamp set of the release is this GORGEOUS   Alleluia Lilies Stamp Set.  Love the size options of the images and they are perfect for coloring!

I did some no line coloring using the Ink On 3 Fade Out Ink and Copics.  The palm leaves are heat embossed with Gina K's Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  All Images were fussy cut out.

I had a panel in my stash using the True Beauty Stamp Set that I just did not know what to do with- I die cut a frame out with it as the colors-lime green, green and navy- worked perfectly with this image. The flower placement and sentiment placement were determined and the sentiment was stamped in dark green ink.  The flowers were adhered to the card front with the top flower being popped up on foam tape.

This next card is probably my favorite of the bunch~

This time the lilies were stamped with IO Black Ink on watercolor paper and colored with my favorite-yes, Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  The flowers were then fussy cut out.  I used a panel I had in my stash, added a bit of vellum behind the lilies and finished it with a sentiment from the Keep in Touch Stamp Set and some SSS Moonshine Sequins.  The stamen were colored with a white gel pen.

Here is a simple card using the same Alleluia Lilies image.  I have really been trying to go 'loose' with my watercoloring-loose just evades me!  Here is my best shot!

This was also done with Ken Oliver Colorbursts.  This time I used Canson Mixed Media paper to keep the color super vibrant as it does not soak into the paper like it does on watercolor paper.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Wordfetti Stamp Set.  A few  Studio Katia Summer Fusion sequins finish the card.

Here is your hop list.  Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

Hello Everyone!

Good Friday has come and gone, but Sunday is coming and soon!  Grateful that no matter what the circumstances, we get to celebrate or risen Savior!

This card showcases one of the gorgeous cross images in the Rustic Easter Stamp Set from Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I colored it with Copics and fussy cut it out.
The background is a scrap piece of paper that I used to clean up any extra watercolor paint or distress ink on my craft mat.  The subtle colors were perfect behind he cross.  A bit of cheese cloth and a few sequins were all that was needed to finish off the card.

I am linking up to the Global Design Project~

And The Card Concept;  my card is mixed media.

Happy Resurrection Day to you!

John 11:25, 26- Jesus said to her, I am the Resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.  Do you believe this?

He has Risen Indeed!

Hello!

Easter is this weekend, and while it will be different for many, we will still celebrate!  I have a mixed media Easter card to share today~

I first stamped the lilies from the Rustic Easter Stamp Set 2 times, colored with Copics and fussy cut out.  I stamped a third time, this time stamping a mirror image using my MISTI and my Waffleflower Water Media Mat.  This was colored and fussy cut as well.
The background was done with a card front die- I made an impression of the die onto the white cardstock using my rubber mat in my Big Shot.  Next, I spritzed the cardstock with some Well Blue Me Down Coloringz from Shimmerz Paints.  The color was a bit intense for what I wanted so I smeared a bit of white acrylic paint over some of the blue spray.  Lastly, I spattered the background with a bit of watered down black paint.
To ground the flowers, I used my new Fine Frames Dies from Altenew.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on a colored distressed 'sign' from the same stamp set, and fussy  cut it out.
I am linking this card up to the following challenge~

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed Easter weekend~

Sweet n Sassy Stamps March Blog Hop

Hello, Hello!

Welcome to the Sweet n Sassy Stamps March Blog Hop!  What a fabulous release!  Follow along with us and leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win a $10 gift code to the Sweet n Sassy Stamps store.  Deadline to comment is 10pm et March 24th.

The Rustic Easter Stamp Set is just amazing!  I love the two styles of crosses.

I colored this cross with Copics, added details with Prismacolor Pencils, then fussy cut it out.
This Altenew Mid Century Frame Die had just arrived in the mail and was perfect to use as a background for my cross.  I sponged some yellow ink onto my white cs and then ran the paper and die through the Big Shot.  I left the die cut in and only removed the small arcs around the circle.  I splattered a bit of water on the yellow to distress.
The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then the whole die cut panel was popped up on dimensional tape and the cross adhered to the card.

I love the lilies in this set as they can be used for non-Easter cards as well.  I have been making encouraging cards to send to friends and family during this unsettling time and the lilies from the Rustic Easter Stamp Set were perfect to frame my sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Choose Faith Stamp Set.
I stamped the word 'Faith' in the center of my cs panel and then stamped the lilies twice.  I used Copics in yellow, green and teal to create a mottled background.  The word Faith was colored the BG Copics in an ombre fashion.  I finished off coloring the lilies and then stamped the rest of the sentiment- 'knows no fear'- in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with clear ep.
I used a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 yellow cardstock and stamped the silhouette word, Faith, in versamark ink across the entire panel. My MISTI helped to keep things straight.  This was adhered to a white card base.  The image panel was die cut with a scalloped rectangle die.  The image panel was adhered to the yellow panel and the scalloped frame was popped up on dimensional tape.  White gel pen was used for the flower centers and sequins were added.

Freshly Made Sketches # 425

Happy Wednesday, Stampers!

It is time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I am a huge fan of Cecile's work; so unique and CAS.  Her sketches are unique as well.  I was initially afraid of this week's sketch but once I got going, well, I just love how this turned out!

For the 3 grounding elements, I settled on these Shattered triangle dies from Altenew.  They have been in my stash for quite a while but this is the first time using them. Not sure what I was waiting for!

I do not have mirrored gold paper; instead I have gold wrapping paper.  I adhered this to a scrap piece of cardstock and then diecut my triangles from that.
The background panel is Canson mixed media paper.  I used to use this quite a bit and have gone back to it recently as it gives a wonderfully spotted/splotchy look to a water colored background.  As the paper is not very porous like water color paper, it tends to sit on top and not soak in.  The colors are also more vibrant.
I this case, I used some watered down Sakura Gansai Tambi black water color paint as I was going for gray. Once dried, I splattered with the same black paint, just not watered down.  I cut this panel out with a stitched rectangle die.
Next, I die cut the triangles from the water colored panel and then inlaid the triangles into the negative spaces.
The butterfly is from Sweet n Sassy Stamps Made New Stamp Set.  It was stamped using the MISTI, in Memento Black ink and colored with Copics.  Once I was finished coloring, I put the panel back in my MISTI and stamped again, this time with Versafine Black Onyx ink to deepen the black color.
The sentiment is from the brand new Rustic Easter Stamp Set.

I am linking up to Just Us Girls Challenge, Inlaid Die Cuts.
Check out the rest of the gorgeous inspiration from the team and then link up your card!  See you in the gallery!
