A Couple of Challenges

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a fantastic Sunday!  It is just gorgeous here in St Louis; spent a lot of time outside doing yard work this weekend.  But, I destressed from the week on Friday night with lots of crafting.

I wanted to join in at Happy Little Stampers with the new Case the Designer challenge this month.  This month, they are casing Joyce Mehrberg.  This is her card, to be cased~

I decided to use the colors at Colour Q~

I had to do a little blending with my Copic markers to try to get the colors in the Colour Q challenge, so the colors are not quite what I wanted them to be.
The image is from Heartfelt Creations and the sentiment is Verve.
I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Inspired Daisies with The Challenge

Happy Monday All!

The excitement is building around here as we have only one more Monday of school!  Bring on the summer!  But, I am getting ahead of myself. This Monday, we have an Inspiration Challenge at The Challenge.  Daisies anyone?

I love the fresh, soft feel of this photo~

This left me stumped for a bit, but as I started to play with different elements, the end result is a card I love.  I wanted to incorporate watercoloring, but wanted to leave the card fairly simple and fairly white.  I ended up just watercoloring the flower centers~

LOVE how these flowers turned out!
I used the sketch at Fusion~

The background was stamped with ODBD's Gingham Background Stamp and embossed with the SU Honeycomb embossing folder.  Daisies are Heartfelt Creations and are colored with Peerless Watercolors.  Sentiment/die is from Hero Arts.  I added a SU paper doily, and, I know you are tired of hearing about my favorite twine, but I added my FAV-orite twine, Hemptique.
I have been going a little overboard with sequins lately, too, so this time I changed it up and added seed beads instead.
I am also linking up to Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge- 'XYZ', y being for yellow.  In addition I really like the suggestion of being inspired by 'the end' ( as in the end of the alphabet); this is a card for a friend's daughter as she has just come to the end of her school career as she graduated Saturday.  And, as this is a graduation card, I am linking up to The Pink Elephant.

Check out the rest of the talented Design Team's inspiration!
Can't wait to see what you link up to The Challenge!

Blessings!

Lee Ann  :)

February Hop with Heartfelt Creations Alum!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the February Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop!  If you are hopping along you should have arrived her from Emilia's blog.  You have until Friday, February 27th, mn EST to hop along and comment for a chance to win.  A $25 Heartfelt Creations gift certificate is up for grabs!  The more blog hop participants blogs that you comment on, the greater your chances of winning!
I had fun playing with my new Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set.  In addition, I used Prismacolor Pencils and watercoloring for my mediums.

I love, love, love birds and this sweet, fluffy bird is just the cutest!  I was so excited to see these sets released last month.  So, I started with the bird- stamped, colored with Prismacolors and die cut him out.  Then I stamped the branches and colored them with watercolors followed by Prismacolors and die cut them out.
Next, I stamped the flowers and colored them-then I realized I did not buy the dies for the flowers.  Epic fail!  So,  I fussy cut all of the flowers out.
My watercolored background is actually a redo as the first one was a total dud, imo!  I have been using both Kuretake watercolors and Peerless watercolors lately, and to be honest, I cannot remember which I used here.  I have used mixed media paper as I find I have better success with that versus watercolor paper.
I used the sketch from Cardabilities~

But then I added the branch to the top right hand corner as I felt the card needed balance.  Not sure if this counts anymore, LOL!
I tucked a doily under the sentiment banner, added Simon Says Stamp Sequins and scrunched some seam binding for a bow.
Are you ready to hop?  Here is your blog hop list~

Heartfelt Creations Dazzling Alumni Hop

Hi Everyone!
Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Alumni Hop. If you are hopping along, you should have arrived here from Glenda's blog.  It is also Wednesday and time for another Add a Little Dazzle Challenge.
You have until Friday, January 30, 2015 at midnight EST to hop along and comment for a chance to win.  A $25 Heartfelt Creations gift certificate is up for grabs!  The more blog hop participants blogs that you comment on, the greater your chances of winning.
I seemed to be short on mojo or brain power or something this week, but I finally came up with a card~

The Add a Little Dazzle Challenge this week is a technique challenge- make a flower using craft metal.

I stamped a background using the Large Elegant Word Background stamp.  The Crumb Cake ink was stamped off once before stamping to my cardstock.  I used some designer paper from the Delicate Asters Collection.  The flower is made using the Vintage Floret Die.  I die cut some white Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal with the dies and molded the flower.  I love how you can shape the craft metal so easily, and it stays put once you are done!  Once the flower petals were glued together with Crystal Effects, I spritzed Plum and red alcohol reinkers onto the flower.
This is where the mojo tanked.  I did not like the way the color looked so I die cut another flower.  I did not like the way that looked either, so I went back to my original white, spritzed flower and using blue alcohol ink, I painted over the entire flower.  The combinations of ink gave the flower a mottled bluish-purplish color.  I added a pearl to the center and then added greenery to the flower, using the Sweet Juliet die.  I then die cut an ornamental piece from the Ornamental Add On Die set and used it to ground my flower.
All of the pieces were assembled and the sentiment from the Inspire Me Stamp Set was added.  Pearls and a bit of twine finish it off.
The sketch is from Jen's Deconstucted Sketch~

The colors are from MFT~

It also fits in nicely to this week's 613 Avenue Create's 'Create Your Own Challenge' Challenge.  I will add this to the challenge as a guest designer.  :)

Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!

It is time for another Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop! I have not had the opportunity to hop in a while, but with Christmas break and free time, I was able to sneak in the final one for 2014.  If you are hopping along, I am your first stop.  You have until Friday, January 2, 2015 at midnight EST to hop along and comment for a chance to win.  A $25 Heartfelt Creations gift certificate is up for grabs!  The more blog hop participants blogs that you comment on, the greater your chances of winning.
Today I am sharing one of my favorite images, colored with watercolors~

The Dahlia Bouquet Cling Stamp Set is perfect for corner collage style designs.  I kept it simple and mailable by letting the water coloring do the talking.  A few pearls, baker's twine bow and a fine black line added around the edge of the image panel is all this card needs for embellishing.
The image was stamped in Versafine black ink and heat set.  I water colored with my new Peerless water colors.  I added just a bit of shading with Prismacolor Pencils.  The sentiment is from the versatile Classic Message Cling Stamp Set. My card base is one of my favorite cardstocks with loads of yummy woodgrain texture, Nature Gmund Savanna cardstock.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes, so I am linking up there.

Here is your Alumni Blog Hop list; enjoy the hop!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop!

Today I an sharing an Easter card I made for my Mom and Dad.

I used the adorably sweet Butterfly and Bunny set as well as the Open Vintage Floret set to make this card.  My background flourish comes from the Elegant Joy set. My bunny is fussy cut out and the flower was cut with the matching Vintage Floret Dies.  I used the Classic Leaf Dies as well for the background greenery; I cannot get enough of leaves!  I also tucked a few leaves from the Sweet Juliet Dies in behind the die cut flower.

My sentiment comes from the Inspire Me Sentiments set.  I stamped it onto a strip of paper and notched the end for a banner; I added a decorative edge to the bottom of my card using the Spellbinders  Classic Petal Edgabilities Die.
With Easter coming, I used this same stamp to make a treat box.  You can see it here.

Colors I used ~

The fabulous corner collage style sketch comes from Cardabilities.  As you can see, I turned the sketch.

Hop to it with a Spring Treat Box!

Hello Everyone!
With the official first day of spring being tomorrow, I am leaving winter behind and am all about flowers, butterflies and bunnies!  At last the days are getting a bit warmer, birds are nesting and I am finally seeing buds on the trees.  And while it is hard to believe, next month is Easter.  How much Easter candy have you eaten already?!  I know how much I have eaten, and I choose to take the fifth!
Today I am sharing this sweet treat box; it would be perfect for a sweet Easter treat or little gift or trinket~

To make this box, I used my We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board and cardstock from CutCardStock.  I use Curious Metallic Cryogen White cardstock for the base.  The scallop circle is cut from Curious Metallic Lime cardstock and the grass is Curious Metallic Botanic cardstock
My image is from Heartfelt Creations and was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Cryogen White cardstock and colored with Copics.  The flower is also hand made using a floral stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations.  All of the Curious Metallic cardstocks have a wonderful glimmer to them, which unfortunately, you cannot see in this photo.  But just to be sure things were sparkly enough, I added Wink of Stella marker to the flowers.  I LOVE THAT MARKER!  It lays down the most wonderful glimmer yet is not over the top or over done.
Detailed instructions on how to make this project can be found on the CutCardStock blog.

Thanks so much for popping by today and have a blessed week!

Flowers and the Heartfelt Creations Design Team Alumni Blog Hop

Hello Again!
It is the end of the month already and time for another Alumni Blog Hop with Heartfelt Creations.  You have until Friday, January 31 at MN(EST) to complete the hop.  Comment on each of the bloggers posts and you will have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Heartfelt Creations.  The more blogs you visit and leave a comment on, the greater your chances of winning!

I have been enjoying creating collage style cards lately; these asters seemed the perfect flower to use for this elegant corner collage.  I started by inking up the Large Elegant Word Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink, stamped off once and then stamped the image in an offset fashion on my white cs.  Next, I embossed the left lower corner of the white cs- right over the stamped word background-using Spellbinders Exquisite Circles Dies.  I finished the background by stamping a lace image from the All Seasons Gazebo Stamp Set in Always Artichoke along the left side.
The flowers were die cut in Pink Pirouette; the two smaller ones were sponged with Blushing Bride ink; they were then assembled, shaped and sponged with silver 3D Stamp Paint.  Leaves were cut with the Spellbinder Foliage die and the leaf die from the Aster dies. The leaves were sponged with silver 3D paint.
The collage was assembled, with the lightest flower being popped up on a dimensional. Pearls were added for the flower centers.  A pearl flourish and bling were added.

Here is your list of Alum participants; time to head on over to their blogs and check out all of the gorgeous inspiration!~

Ring in the New Year with the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blop Hop

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!
It isn't quite New Year's here yet, but I know that somewhere in this world it is already 2014. It is hard to say good bye to 2013 as it was quite an exciting year, but I am looking forward to what 2014 will bring.

I am so glad you could join us for the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop. You have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Heartfelt Creations just by leaving a comment on participating blogs; the more blogs you visit and comment on, the greater your chances of winning.  You can hop until midnight (EST) on January 3rd.  Winner will be announced on our blogs at noon on January 4th.

My card today probably will go down as the project that took the most time to create-ever!  I started with a completely different project and reworked it at least 6 times over a period of 4 days and finally scrapped it!  I went in a totally different direction and came up with this~

While I love Christmas, winter, and snow, I really needed a shot of spring color; I think pink, green, and yellow fill that category!
I started with the Decorative Leafy Frame Die and embossed it in white on vellum.  I stamped the butterfly image and colored it with Copics, then stamped again just for a second butterfly and colored it as well.  both complete image and second butterfly were fussy cut out.  The frame and butterfly/floral image were matted on green cs and adhered to a white card base.  The card is a nonstandard size of 6.25 x 4.25 inches.
Here is your complete list of DT Alumi; your next stop should be Emilia~

Wintry and Heartfelt

Hello and Welcome back to a Wednesday of inspiration from Heartfelt Creations! Today is my last post for Heartfelt Creations.  I cannot believe how fast 6 months has gone!  I have so enjoyed working with the team and with Heartfelt Creations' gorgeous products.
I have two cards to share today; The first is a wintry Thinking of You card.

To create my background, I used the tops of the trio of trees from the Magnificent Spruce Trees set.  I I stamped in white craft ink around the edge of the background paper and then heat embossed with some wonderful Stampendous 'Frantage' embossing powder.  Dry embossing vellum gave a wonderful look and texture to my next layer.  I added lots of die cuts and bling to finish my card.
My next card uses Heartfelt Creations wonderful new flower die, Sweet Juliet~

I used a sketch from Cardabilities for this card.
Complete instructions can be found at the end of this blog post.  There is more amazing inspiration on the Heartfelt Creations blog from the uber talented Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Heartfelt Hyacinths

Hello Again, and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Inspiration Wednesday!
Today's card uses an image that was just perfect for a technique I had been wanting to try- coloring with mica powder.

These flowers reminded me of springtime hyacinths, so I wanted to color them purple.  To make  the flowers pop, I used mica powder from QKR Stampede on black cardstock and adhered it using Sticky Powder, also from QKR Stampede.  The process is very quick and easy.  Taking a picture of it, on the other hand, is hard!

The Delicate Asters Paper Collection was perfect for this image and the colors I used. The sketch is from Cardabilities~
Complete instructions are at the end of this blog post.  You can find more gorgeous inspiration from the talented Design Team on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!

Heartfelt in Green

Hello, and welcome to another Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations!
Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you that uses the wonderful Blessing to Me Precut Set from the new Sweet Juliet Collection.  I love all things natural including botanicals and greenery.  This set was perfect for highlighting just that~

I went for a clean design and kept the colors to a minimum so the green would really shine.
Used the kraft paper and pieces of burlap to add to the natural feel of the card.

Heartfelt Sweetness

Hello and Welcome to another Heartfelt Creation Inspiration Wednesday!
We are pleased to introduce the Sweet Juliet Collection. This collection is inspired by the beauty of ancient rooms locked away and laden with antique treasures. These rooms are filled with yellow candlelight and dusty vases. Crinkly letters lay scattered around, turning crisp and fading more every day. A postcard lays covered in thick dust, forgotten in a dark corner. Wildflowers lay around, as crisp and crinkled as the beautiful wallpapers. Using these detailed floral and typographical stamps, complemented by black, gold and burgundy papers will enable you to create an outstanding classical creation.
Leave a comment on the Heartfelt Creations blog by October 15th and you will be eligible to win the entire collection valued at $150.

These gorgeous blooms seemed just perfect for coloring with Prismacolor Pencils.  I stamped the image several times, some with masking, colored and then added the circle sentiment.  So easy and yet I think it packs a pretty good punch!   For detailed instructions check out the bottom of this post.
