Designer Paper Challenge

Happy Friday, Everyone!  It was a wonderfully short work week and here we are again at the weekend!  I have 2 more Creative Crew cards for you today; these cards are for the challenge focusing on the new Designer Series Paper in the Spring Mini and Sale-a-bration catalogs. I have used the Tea for Two dsp for these cards-

For this card I have paired the bird from Everything Eleanor with the bird cage from Nature Walk to create a vintage style card.

For this card I have used a sentiment from the Trust God set and made a rolled rose by punching a large scalloped circle, cutting it into a spiral and rolling the spiral, starting from the outside and working your way to the center.  The edges of the rose are sponged with Calypso Coral.  Fan Fair dsp is also used behind the sentiment.
Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Lee Ann :)

Plate Full of Poppies

Happy Saturday and Happy November!  It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away, but I say bring it on!  I love Thanksgiving and don't like to see it lost in between Halloween and Christmas.
I am enjoying a long weekend so more time for stamping! This morning I played with a stamp I just bought; it is from Penny Black.  It was perfect for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers today.  Here is the Inspiration I used-

And here is my card-

This is such a fun image!  I also used Stampin' Up's Whisper White, So Saffron and Poppy Parade cs.  DP is also SU.  The image was stamped in SU craft black and embossed with clear ep.  It was colored with Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive using an Aqua painter.  The background image is sponged with Baja Breeze. I used SU's scalloped edge punch for the border and Tiny Tags paired with the jewelry tag punch for the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my blog.  I will be back later as I stamp away my day!

Hello Everyone!  Back again with a card for a few more challenges.  Most importantly, it is for my father, who will be having surgery sometime in the next couple of weeks.   I have finally jumped in to the Queen for the Day Forum at SCS.  This week's Queen has a wonderful gallery and I chose to case this card.  What a great masculine card!  Here is my version-

This card is also for the ODBD challenge-masculine card-this week.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a blessed weekend!

Hello, again!  This is the last card for the night.  I feel like Christmas should already be here for all of the Christmas cards I have done!  This latest one is for the Merry Monday sketch.

As you can see, I turned the sketch again (I have a habit of doing that)!

I really wasn't sure how I was going to use my Snow Festival Christmas dsp with the village houses on it, but when I pulled this snowman out, it seemed a perfect way to make a snowy scene.  This card did not have a banner or ribbon feel to it, so I went with the wintry pearl flourish to blow in the snowflake. The snowman's (or woman's) scarf is paper pieced.
Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog!

I think I need a Drumroll...

Wow!  I cannot believe it!  This is my 100th post!  Last January, one blog post used to take me around 2 hours; I was so "blog illiterate", if there is such a thing, it was not even funny.  Fast forward, and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning the blogging world-especially when it comes to cards!
Thank you all for your visits and your sweet comments.  I hope to continue to find new challenges, "join" new blogs and meet new people via the internet.  And, I am really hoping to become a part of a challenge team/designer.
Alright, on to the next project.  I have been waiting for the right color challenge or sketch challenge to try out something new- I came up with a way to make some pretty nifty bittersweet.

Simply Bittersweet

What do you think?  I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Little Leaves Sizzlit from Stampin' Up, as well as a standard hole puncher.  As you can see, I cut the leaves off of the die cut to create a vine.  The sketch is courtesy of Less is More .

The Early Espresso panel is scored, creating 3 rectangles within the panel to follow the sketch.
To make the bittersweet, both the punched piece from the Punch Pack and the small circle were burnished with the scoring tool, causing the paper to curl.  A tiny bit of dimensional adhesive was placed at the center of the punched paper, and the cupped circle was then placed over that adhesive.  All supplies are Stampin' Up.
I hope you like my project and thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a blessed week!

Window on a Fabulous Color Combo!

I know that many will not feel as I do, but I love the color Starfruit!  I have seen many great color combos including Starfruit, but I happened upon Summer Starfruit, Black and Poppy Parade today.  LOVE it!  I played around with another inspiration challenge at SCS this afternoon and also played The Paper Player's challenge this week-to incorporate a frame in our projects.

Engelbreit Window Frame

I titled this "Engelbreit Window Frame" because it has a bit of a "Mary Engelbreitesque" look to it with the color scheme, polka dots and rolled rose. While last week was a bit of a struggle,  I feel like I have gotten my MOJO back with this card.
Products used include-
Paper-Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Poppy Parade, Basic Gray, dsp (Patio Party and Designer pack-neutrals)
Stamp Set-Trust God
Ink-Stazon Black
Other-Window Framelits, large scallop circle punch (to make the flower), Little Leaves die, White Baker's twine, polka dot ef, dimensionals

I had so much fun making this card and it is easy to reproduce as will as change up the color scheme.
Thanks so much for checking out my project and have a Blessed week!

Virtual Stamp Night (or day)

Today I decided to participate in Splitcoast Stamper's Virtual Stamp Night. I have not done this before-probably because it typically takes me hours to make 1 card!  But today I am trying to keep up with the 45 minute time limit.  Whew!  Not easy to do!

This challenge was to try a new  (at least to me) technique, the Glitter Window.  This card uses 3 stamp sets-Lovely as a Tree, Tiny Tags and Peaceful Wishes (retired).  The card base and ribbon are Cherry Cobbler.  Other paper used is Whisper White, Very Vanilla, River Rock, Chocolate Chip and the newest Christmas dsp, Candlelight Christmas. The evergreen is stamped in Wild Wasabi and the window that frames it is made with the SU apothecary framelit. I clear embossed and hand cut the pinecones.  There is also Cherry Cobbler baker's twine, a Vintage Faceted button and a tag punched with the jewelry tag punch.  Believe it or not, there is also clear packing tape and Crystal Snow glitter.

This was a fun technique to try-why not hop on over to Splitcoast Stampers and check out the tutorial?
Thanks for stopping by,

Lee Ann

Back again with a little MOJO-the  MOJO Monday sketch that is-
What a fun and versatile sketch!  I wanted to use warm, fall colors as well as one of my new stamp sets from Stampin' Up, Trust God.

Paper used is Very Vanilla, Patio Party dsp, Candlelight Christmas dsp, and SU Salebration dsp.  The sentiment is framed with the Stampin' Up embossing frame.  Embellishments include a new SU faux wood button with linen thread and leaves from Lovely as a Tree stamped on Naturals Ivory paper, colored with reinkers and aqua painter and hand cut.  I used the Simply Scored tool to score around the edge of the card base.
Oranges, golden yellows and browns-I am now ready for fall!

Thank you for visiting my blog;
have a blessed weekend!
