Philadelphia
on November 17th of That Year...

It's an Excellent Westwood One Broadcast!

They Play a Little Bit of Everything...

Here's a Kinda Unique CARS Concert...

It's Supposedly a King Biscuit Show...

BUT, It's Still Really Good Soundin'...

Also, It's From the Panorama Tour...

Live in Tokyo, Japan in 1980!

Plus, There's a Few Extra Live Versions...
(Alternate Takes for the Recording!?!)

Pair-A-Dices From the Rear View Mirror...

Here's Another of Those EARLY Cars Shows I've Been Workin' On!

The Last One Was From APRIL 1977 at The Rat...
THIS ONE Is From The Paradise from October 1977...

Remember The Cars Wouldn't Record
Their First Album Until February 1978!

SO, I Think These Shows Are Interestin'

Are You With Me?

Anyway, This Is Another Nice Audience Recording,
Except There Was Some Drunken Southerner
Givin' Rebel Yells (Or The Equivalent in Boston?)
Between Songs Sometimes!

But, The Good News IS - You Don't Have To Hear Him,
'Cause I Edited Him Out Wherever Possible!
Of Course, The Cars Didn't Really Talk Much
Between Songs Much Anyway
(Even When I Saw Them in 1979!)...

You'll Notice the Band Has Gelled Much More Since April!
They Sound Like The Cars You've Known and Loved!

A Very Cool Setlist with an Early Version of
You Can't Hold On Too Long
Which Wouldn't Appear 'Til the Candy-O Album!

The Cars - The Paradise - Boston 1977  (Aud)

Here's The Famous Boston Paradise Cars FM from 1978!

This was Recorded About a Month
AFTER Their Debut Album was Released!

Most of The Songs Performed are From the Album,
With a Few Exceptions...

Anyway, You Probably Already Have This One!
If Not - Here 'Tis!

NOTE: Check The COMMENTS for a Link to Follow to See Somethin' Familiar and Kinda Funny...

Found All The Parts...

Here's Somethin' I Been Workin' On...
(One Of Those Projects I's A Tellin' You About!)

THIS Is an EARLY Cars Concert from The Rat in Boston!

It's an Audience Recording, But Actually Sounds Pretty Good!

And, Would Old Rocket Post a Recording That Sounded Like It was Recorded Out in the Parkin' Lot of the Venue, From Inside a Parked Car, With The Motor Runnin?

Now, You Remember me Tellin' about Cap'n Swing, Right?

Well, Apparently This Concert Took Place Sometime in APRIL 1977!

Now, That's Significant 'Cause The Cars Became The Cars Sometime Around February 1977...So, That Means They'd ALL Been Together for About 2 Months at this Point! And, It Kinda Shows in Some Places...

The 1st Song, I Believe, Ben Sings...Listen Closely and He Starts to Come In a Tad too Early, And They Sound a Little Loose on a Few Songs...Elliot is Solid Throughout!

Also, The Cars Didn't Start Recordin' Their First Album Until February 1978!

Also, Again, On THIS Recording They Do a Couple Cap'n Swing Songs: Strawberry Moonlight & Lover and a Holiday!

I Made The Covers With Those Old Bootlegs in Mind - You Know The White Record Sleeves with The Papers Pasted on...

Anyway, This Is Pretty Cool To Listen To a Band In The Makin'

I Hope You Enjoy This One As Much as I Do!

Enjoy and Play It LOUD!

That Car's Fine Lookin' Man, It's Somethin' Else...

Here's Another Cool CARS Concert from Cleveland!

It's Also from 1978 (There Were A Lot From That Year!)

It's Also Another Concert from the Agora and Broadcast on WMMS!

There's a Lot of Great Concerts, In General, the Agora Broadcast on WMMS!

You get to Hear All The Great Early Songs that Made You Like The Cars in the First Place - Like Good Times Roll, Just What I Needed, Etc.

On Good Times Roll, You Can Hear David Robinson Play a Syndrum

(Which was the 1st Commercially Available Electronic Drum)

Just Listen Closely to the Beginning of the Song,

And You'll Hear 'Em!

There were Different Models and were heard on a lot of late 70's songs -
Especially Disco!

Also, The Cars Play a few Rarities Like Take What You Want and Hotel Queenie!

But Probably the Rarest of These would Be Eddie Cochran's Somethin' Else - With

Elliot Easton Singin' the Lead Vocals!

It's The CARS - LIVE!

It's Just What You Needed!

Enjoy and Play It LOUD in Your CAR!

That New Car Smell...

Just In Case You Didn't Come Over From Voodoo Wagon...

I'm Gonna Post This CARS Concert from 1978 Here!

It just might be of interest to You, IF You're a Cars Fan,
'Cause of the Unique Setlist

This Concert took place in the Summer of 1978 and It's a Really Good Soundboard Recording from B'Ginning's!

I had Never Heard the Song,

When You Gonna Lay Me Down

(And, as it turns out, It's a Really Good Song!)

In Fact, I Didn't Even Know It Existed Until This Show?

And, I Have a Lot of Cars Shows!

NOTE: I'm Workin' on an Old Cars Show Right Now (For the Past Couple Days or So...Tryin' to Get the Sound Right and Still have some More Work to Do...But, Hopefully, Soon...

All the Information for This Concert Is On The Back Cover!

Enjoy and Play It LOUD!

Ridin' Along In My Automobile...

Hop in Son, Let's Go For a Ride!
You Ain't Gotta Slam the Door - This Here Car was Built with real Steel before they started makin' 'em with Plastic and Recycled Beer Cans (Who the Hell Ever Heard of Plastic Screws?) - Just Pull it Closed, and We'll be on Our Way!
Where We Goin'?
The Middle of Nowhere...

I'll Tell You an Old Story on the Way...

Once Upon A Time (All Good Stories Start That Way, Now Don't They?) there was a Band called The CARS...

But, Let's Start Right Before That, in 1976:

Still On The Assembly Line...
There was this Band that was One Step Removed from The CARS: Cap'n Swing!
Cap'n Swing Recorded 11 Songs (Demos) in a Studio in Boston in the Summer of '76. Benjamin Orr sang Most of the songs, But Ric Ocasek sang a few, and They sang one together. These were Great Quality Demos! Cap'n Swing was Gettin' Pretty Popular in and Around Boston, and by '77 They would add David Robinson, Drummer and Artist, and Change Their Name to The CARS!

Firing On All Cylinders...
The CARS released their First album in the Summer of '78, Son, and They Went Big Time!
Yeah, I Know You Never Heard of 'em, They's Before Your Time!

Here, I'll Let You Listen to 'em!
Just Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Ears:

Here they are from 1978 Live In Concert on somethin' Called the King Biscuit Flower Hour...
Yeah, I Know You, Again, Never Heard of That, Either - I done told You it was an Old Story...
Just Listen!

I Know it's New to You - Hell, it was New to Everyone Back Then - They even called it New Wave Music...

Ah, Here We Are -
Nowhere (Pop. 15)
and This Store's smack dab in the Middle of Nowhere!

Come On, Kid, I'll Buy You a Co-Cola
(In little Glass Bottles, The Way God Intended!)...

And, Son - Don't Slam the Damn Door!
