Nature Activities for Kids
Looking for some nature activities for kids to go along with your nature studies and nature walks? You can build a fun unit study with some Charlotte Mason learning and hands-on nature activities and crafts. This list will inspire you to get your kids into nature and exploring!
The nature activities and crafts below are fun and creative ways to bring the outdoors indoors in your homeschool. You’ll probably have most of the supplies you need on-hand already. Things like string or yarn, glue, tempera paint, and tissue paper are the basics.
You might want to buy some birdseed if you don’t have that already. We always have birdseed on hand because we enjoy filling the birdfeeders just outside our window. My daughter loves birds and can identify them by sight and song!
These birdfeeders are so cool because they have a built-in camera connected to your wifi so you can watch the birds up close!
You’ll also need to spend some time outside collecting supplies like pine cones and dandelions. You might want to include this free printable nature walk scavenger hunt to extend the learning fun!
Now on to the nature activities and crafts!

Nature activities are a fun way to get kids off the screen time and into creative learning. Creativity with your kids is such an important part of parenting, in my opinion. The time you spend with them makes a difference, not only for the educational experience, but the family memories you’re building together.
