When you consider the very uniqueness of this group, why wouldn't you buy it? They really are a seriously spectacular live act as well as masters of the studio.
Favorite track: Zero Degree Machine (Live in Leipzig).

Left feeling a little duped. Thought I was buying a "live" album but in fact it's the same album that I already purchased only with 4 live tracks as digital downloads. My fault I guess but the cover photo is a bit misleading in my opinion.

Following last year’s album Comradely Objects, Horse Lords offer an exploded view of the quartet’s unparalleled live show via Live in Leipzig, a four song EP captured in Germany at the UT Connewitz theater on their fall 2022 European tour.
Featuring all four founding members of Horse Lords — Andrew Bernstein (saxophone, percussion, electronics), Max Eilbacher (bass, electronics), Owen Gardner (guitar, electronics), and Sam Haberman (drums), Live in Leipzig is split between two tracks from Comradely Objects (“Zero Degree Machine,” “Mess Mend”), and two from their 2016 album Interventions (“Interventions III,” "Bending to the Lash”).

Long-form trance-y rhythmic jams, with a fun shambling edge, sounding like a cross between music from Africa's Sahel region crossed with a Tom Waits instrumental... Jascha Narveson

Even at 80 years old, Pharoah Sanders played his tenor sax with the conviction of a gospel preacher. Every second of this album is arrestingly beautiful. As far as I'm concerned, this is essential listening for anyone who considers themselves a fan of music. 3sidesinasquare
