Viking coat pattern
Tutorial (Intermediate) - Viking coat pattern, remarkably similar in construction to the standard T-tunic pattern--just create a front opening. Very simple to construct, but flagged as intermediate just because it doesn't walk you through the construction step by step.

Medieval Dress Pattern for Women – Janel Was Here
A wealthy lady striking a defiant pose. The colours of her dress and coat look right. The trim on her kaftan/coat looks like (Byzantine?) silk. Silk was traded up the Russian rivers and it could be of wildly varying quality and origin. A garment from Birka had trim made from Chinese silk that was already several centuries old by the Viking age. The most common source of silk though was the Byzantines who stole the secret of its manufacture from China and monopolised much of the trade.
