There was never a moment where I thought about doing anything other than restoring this piece. I used my @surfprepsanding orbital & 3x4 sanders to get it down to raw wood then applied my favorite @varathane stain to bring the wood back to life. I top coated with @howard_products wax and added fabric to the drawers instead of wallpaper which was so much easier! I saw @abby_roadhome add fabric to her walls and knew I needed to try it on a piece of furniture.

Jessica Faulkenberry | Furniture Flips & DIY on Instagram: "I was so torn on whether or not to go dark or light on this dresser but you guys came through! You voted light and it turned out so good! Thank you!❤️

I used my carbide scraper to get the majority of the finish off, which saved me a lot of time when it came to sanding. Then, I used 120 grit to sand the whole thing down.

This wood had some red undertones so I used a little bit of sage green paint mixed with tan paint (50/50 water and paint), brushed it on, then wiped it off immediately.

As a final step I used @varathane water-based poly in satin using a stain pad applicator and TA-DA!

She’s a beaut!
