I have painted the reverse and rim of the shell with gold liquid leaf. This shell is the perfect place to keep your rings and other pieces of jewellery. The shell is sealed but I do not recommend that you immerse it in water. To clean wipe lightly with a dry cloth. The shell will have natural blemishes from the rough and tumble of the sea.
