This is my favorite molasses cookie. I use the recipe not only to create little houses for Christmas but also to make bunnies for Easter and stars for the Fourth of July. —Karen Haen, Sturgeon Bay, WI

• 1 tsp Zest, orange

Refrigerated

• 2 Eggs, large

Condiments

• 1 cup Molasses

Baking & Spices

• 5 1/2 cups All-purpose flour

• 3 tsp Baking soda

• 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed

• 3/4 tsp Cinnamon, ground

• 1/2 tsp Nutmeg, ground

• 3/4 tsp Salt

• 1 cup Shortening

• 1/2 cup Sugar

Liquids

• 1/2 cup Water
