We use this type of color theory to our benefit all the time! We can make something "pop" or visually recede... Is that not just THE coolest thing ever!?! Oh the really cool and amazing things we can do with color when we understand it 🫶♥️ #themoreyouknow🌈"
Michelle | Beauty Business 📊 | Salon Owner 💇🏽♀️ on Instagram: "Not all services are created equally, swipe to read why ⬅️ Many times clients think that getting your hair done should fit within a certain budget because it's just 1 appointment. But one appointment can be like doing 2 or 3 separate services in one visit. It's important to explain to clients what they are asking for when they have their hair goals and plan for them accordingly. Services that are 2.5 hours or less are basic color and highlights applications that are usually predictable and consistent between appointments. These clients are accustomed to coming every 6 to 10 weeks and the changes between appointments are minimal because of how often you see them. Services that are 2.5 to 4 hours are modern customized
Emily Chen on Instagram: "#staytoxic🥰 Also, here’s some context for what you just saw here: My client wanted to blend these highlights. She wanted to be a lived-in color girlie. SO— When deciding how to approach this, I had to consider BOTH my client’s SHORT TERM goals & LONG TERM goals. SHORT TERM GOALS: To leave the salon with a blended, gradient look TODAY. To reduce brass. Even though, YES - corrections including this one can take multiple visits to permanently fix, but in the mean time, she still needs something that will make her feel good about her hair when she’s out & about. LONG TERM GOALS: To get back to having a lived in, blended look that will last her 4-6 months between visits. This is where it got tricky - if I did classic lowlights to blend, it might

You can map out the formula you're creating, the remaining pigments in the hair AND the target color you're trying to hit! THIS is really using your wheel when you formulate 🔥 If you've got the basics of the color wheel down, jump into one of our Foundations of Color Theory classes where we'll teach YOU how to do it 💪 If you need to work on capturing the basics of the wheel first, you can take our pre-recorded Basics of Color Theory class where we'll help get you prepped and ready 🙌🔥 All rights reserved #themoreyouknow🌈 #haircoloreducation @iamalishalashun"
HAIRSTYLIST | HAIR EDUCATOR on Instagram: "To sum it all up 👇🏼 Choose a shade with a black to grey background anytime you’re looking for a cooler result. Choose a shade with a brown to tan background when looking to neutralize but still maintain a natural end result. Drop down to a level 6 if you’re looking for a true cool result. If this is darker than what you’re looking for then try to lift up a level 8 so that you can tone down to a level 7. And remember, you can also customize by mixing some of these shades together!😉 I love mixing 07M and 07P together! What’s your go to for cancelling out a level 7 orange undertone? Don’t forget to save this for later! It’ll come in handy behind the chair! #btconeshot2025_colorvideo @oneshothairawards @behindthechair_com #redkenshades
Blake Reed Evans on Instagram: "The life cycle of redhead is a tough one! Soooo many things lead to the hair “browning out” or getting dull: flat irons, curling irons, enviroment, over deposit of color (from the salon and from home masks or shampoos) #saloncentricpartner For redheads I recommend: -Permanent color like @redkenpro Color Fusion for the most vibrant reds with MOSTLY no background and 1/4-1/8 of a formula with gold. -Shades EQ Gloss Refresh with NO BACKGROUND -After 2-3 visits, the hair may become dull so I will use Color Fusion on the ends to bump them up and refresh them. -After 2-3 more visits with Shades EQ refreshes and it starts to dull you can do the permanent color refresh OR do a quick decolorizing wash to truly lift the hair again. -Make sure to maintain the hair h
Blake Reed Evans on Instagram: "When it comes to hair color formulation, there’s no such thing as a “bad color” or “wrong shade”—every formula is designed to produce a specific result. For example, let’s talk about 09G and 09Gro. 09G (Gold) is a stunning shade that works beautifully in many scenarios, but it has a background color that can slightly deepen your end result. This makes it perfect for adding richness while maintaining a golden tone. On the other hand, 09Gro (Gold Rose) is bright, vibrant, and super warm because it doesn’t have a background color. This means it stays lighter and really lets its warm, golden tones shine. You might wonder why 09Gro, which has “rose” or pink in its name, never actually appears pink on the hair. The reason lies in how the pink pigment interacts w
