Leroy Gordon "Gordo" Cooper Jr. (6 Maret 1927 – 4 Oktober 2004) adalah seorang insinyur penerbangan, pilot uji coba, pilot Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat dan orang termuda dari tujuh antariksawan asli dalam Project Mercury, program luar angkasa berawak pertama Amerika Serikat. Cooper belajar terbang sejak kecil, dan setelah bertugas dalam United States Marine Corps pada Perang Dunia II, ia masuk Angkatan Udara Amerika Serikat pada 1949. Setelah bertugas sebagai pilot tempur, ia terkualifikasi sebagai pilot uji coba pada 1956, dan terpilih menjadi antariksawan pada 1959.
