So if you want to create your own what you need to do is grab some shearing elastic and first of all wind it on the bobbin by hand. I find it easier just to pop a little bit through that top hole in the bobbin just to help keep it in place because it can be a little bit fiddly to first start winding it onto the bobbin. And then when there's enough in there that it's going to stay in place I can just trim that little bit away. And then continue to wire evenly up and down the bobbin until it is full. Now you obviously can't get as much on a bobbin as normal thread so you might want to wind a few in preparation depending on how much shearing you're going to be doing. When loading the bobbin into the machine it's important that you pull the elastic into those slots there. It can easily pop out because it's a thicker thread to what you were normally using and you need to pull it up to the top before you start sewing. So you might want to get some tweezers to to help it out and pull enough elastic out towards the back before you start your first row. Take your stitch length up. The longer the stitch length the more it will gather the fabric so do some test pieces first to get the result that you want. And when you finish sewing you need to pull out enough thread so that it stays above the bobbing cover ready for your next row. You don't want that elastic disappearing back underneath. And just keep on sewing until you've done enough rows for what you are making. Trim away all the loose threads and there you can see it's really quick and easy to create your own sheered fabric.
