In the South Downs National Park are the cliffs tops of Beachy Head. They are the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain rising to 162 metres above sea level. The peak allows views of the south east coast from Dungeness in the east, to Selsey Bill in the west. The name appears as 'Beauchef' in 1274, and was 'Beaucheif' in 1317, becoming consistently Beachy Head by 1724, and has nothing to do with beach. On the Nikon Workshop I attended over the last few days, Adam Burton, one of the tutors, suggested I try this location, which faces south and was a bit more sheltered from the wind. The light was amazing and I managed to get this shot which I think is my favourite from the workshop.

The Vestmanna Cliffs on the west coast of the island of Streymoy are some of the highest bird cliffs in Europe. Our captain aimed the boat at this opening and proceeded to take us into the cove. It turned out to be a loop behind the massive pillar.
