Eyes are always a unique challenge that often begins with questions about what to paint first. In this case, I chose painting the model’s eyelids first, giving me an eye socket with which to sculpt the form from. This was done in part to continue working with the skin tones I had, while also not wanting to lose my understanding of that pre-sketched space.
