How to care for: Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma)
Did you know that the Rhaphidophora tetrasperma (mini monstera) can grow up to 20 feet in the wild? Indoors they usually reach 6-8 feet tall They’re a great alternative for those who love monstera deliciosas but may not have the space for them. They prefer partial sunlight, a moss pole to climb, and moist, but well-drained soil. They can withstand high temps but do not like direct sunlight- it scorches their leaves! I have mine near a southern window, receiving indirect sunlight all day. I top my soil with a layer of moss for moisture retention. Water when the top of the soil starts to feel dry to the touch. Repot your mini Monstera when you see roots coming out of the drainage hole or notice that the soil is drying out too quickly. Spring or early summer is best.
