How should we respond to suffering as Christians?
We must realize that the only way of conquering suffering is in the way Jesus did, through the cross. Jesus relieved suffering in others - he restored peace in nature, brought healing to the sick and mended broken relationships - at great cost to himself. He calls us to follow him in this same path of the cross (Lk 14:27).
