Conway Juniors Volleyball Club on Instagram: "AIR-FORCE DRILL ✈️ this is a great drill to work on blocking moves & eye sequencing, especially for the MB. Series of 5 correct blocking moves, followed by a transition to attack ball! If the MB gets faked out by the setter or reads wrong- they start over. **This also gives your setters a chance to really work on staying neutral and psyching out the blockers. Try it out & let us know what you think! 🩵 #conwayjuniors #cjv #vballworld #volleyball #drills #blocking #defense #team #skills #middleblocker #vballdrills #fyp #bettereveryday"

This is an extremely good example of that. The plant foot has a primary responsibility as a concentric contributor to a jump (PUSHING), whereas the block foot (last foot) is an eccentric braking mechanism… if we do not understand the basics of how to stay behind the plant foot, we place our body in a mechanically inefficient setting where the limbs are performing the wrong tasks. Give this drill a try!
