DIY Batten Chevron Accent Wall

After living in our home for a year, we were finally ready to do something REALLY permanent. Our living room was completely empty so we had a great blank canvas to work with. Board and batten has been popular in new construction homes lately and we have always had an affinity for chevron and herringbone patterns. So after a little research, we settled on a "party up top, business on the bottom!" board batten modern accent wall!

Well, alllmosst finished 🔨 we are loving this IKEA built-ins hack and idk why we didn’t do it sooner!! FAQ We used Havsta cabinets for lowers and Billie bookcases for uppers. This allowed the shelves to go to the ceiling (we have 9ft. ceilings so we had to cut them down a bit). Next we added a connecting shelf with plywood and lattice trim. After caulking and using spackle to fill the millions of holes, we sanded and primed the cabinets for paint. I love this moody green paint! (1905 G...
