Taking his name and slogan, OBEY, from John Carpenter’s film “They Live”, Shepard Fairey is one of the most famous street artist to date. With his Russian propaganda influenced style, Fairley carved out a market for himself. Strikingly large Andre the Giant posters grace wall internationally, and when you see his work, it literally stops you in your tracks. A brilliant insight to the street art life of Shepard Fairey can be seen in the documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop”. After a decade of dominance in the street art world, Fairley moved on to more commercial endeavours, founding Studio Number One design agency.
