The entire internals of the PS5 console
The PS5 features two air intake vents on either side of the console. Air is exhausted through the rear of the console.

The front panel features a USB type-A and USB type-C port.
The rear panel features two USB type-A ports with SuperSpeed data transfer.
The rear panel also features a LAN port and HDMI Out to connect to a TV or other display.

The side panel can be released by hand with no need for tools.

A metal panel can be released to reveal the NVMe SSD bay, which accepts PCIe 4.0 storage drives.
The UHD blu-ray drive is insulated with two layers to protect against noise and vibrations.

The PS5 uses a SoC (system on a chip) which contains the AMD Ryzen Zen 2 central processing unit.

The SoC also includes the Radeon RDNA 2 graphics processing unit.
On the rear of the motherboard is the 16GB of GDDR6 system memory.
The SSD is soldered directly to the motherboard.

The custom SSD controller allows for high-speed data transfer.
Liquid metal is used as a thermal conductor to draw heat away from the SoC and into the heatsink.
The heatsink uses heatpipes and has been designed for maximum airflow. It is comparable in performance to a vapor chamber.

The vertical base can be removed from the console to allow it to sit horizontally instead.
