Sometimes, a few hours of your time can become a meaningful part of a child’s journey. 💙 CRY is looking for passionate volunteers in and around Kharagpur to spend time with children across five government schools, supporting engaging sessions on Spoken English, Cyber Safety and Financial Literacy. The commitment is twice a week, for around two hours per visit, from August 2026 to March 2027. If you’re a student or simply someone who believes in giving your time and skills to create a positive impact, we’d love to have you join us. Along the way, you’ll also receive local travel reimbursement, a certificate and Letter of Recommendation, and most importantly, the opportunity to make a difference in children’s lives. What does climate change look like through the eyes of a child? Across India, changing climate conditions are affecting children and their families in ways that go far beyond the environment, impacting livelihoods, education, everyday life and, in some cases, driving migration. This film brings together stories from different regions to highlight how communities are experiencing and responding to these changes, while showing why children must be part of conversations around climate and the future they will inherit. Because children are not only vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. With the right knowledge, opportunities and support, they can also become agents of change. As part of Fortrea India’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, 13 leaders from the Pune team recently visited a government school in collaboration with CRY - Child Rights and You to experience the impact of Fortrea’s long-standing support for children’s education. The visit included interactions with teachers and students, a tour of the school and a look at the STEM laboratory, where children were learning through hands-on exploration. The experience showcased how STEM education can nurture curiosity, creativity, and innovation from an early age. The leaders also conducted a career guidance session, sharing their professional journeys and encouraging students to pursue their aspirations. Conversations with the children revealed remarkable confidence, curiosity, and ambition, leaving a lasting impression on the visiting leaders. Through its continued partnership with CRY, Fortrea has supported more than 17,000 children across Karnataka and Maharashtra through integrated interventions in education, STEM learning, digital access, health, and nutrition over the years. The visit reinforced the importance of collective efforts in creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation. The team left feeling inspired and hopeful, carrying with them the energy, dreams, and resilience of the children they had the privilege to meet and the larger impact Fortrea has been creating in the society. Over the last 3 days, we've been asked the question "So what does CRY do?" at #AVPN2026 several times and we've loved answering it. At CRY, we work towards a world where every child can learn, be healthy, stay protected, have agency and have the opportunity to simply be a child. But being at AVPN makes you deeply reflect on the "how" and "why," which is always reaffirming. This year, our conversations and discussions centred around systems change, working with the government to reach scale, and keeping communities at the heart of all that we do and the many different ways we can move the needle for India's underprivileged children. Gatherings like this always bring about a sense of oneness that we truly admire - spotting familiar faces across the room, introductions that turn into long conversations, someone sharing a challenge that sounds remarkably similar to one you've been grappling with, a new connection that leaves you thinking differently about your own work. It’s a reminder that the challenges we're trying to solve are far too complex for any one organisation, sector or individual to tackle alone.
