Oracle character design

Here are the pieces I did for the Ancient Civilizations Character Design contest hosted by Artstation. Unfortunately I ran out of time and only managed to get 5 out of the 10 finished but I do plan on doing the rest on my spare time. They were so much fun to do and I learned a lot from them!

This week our homework theme was "Greek myths." One of my favorite Greek myth characters has always been the Oracle. I don't know why, she just seems so mysterious and special and awesome. image source I came up with this composition where most of her body is in the light, but her face is in shadow. I drew a quick little thumbnail. I knew that getting a photo reference would help a lot for this. The only tricky part would be finding a place with such strong light. Luckily it was a sunny day…

Something I started a bunch of months back that I finally got around to finishing. Came up with the character as I was drawing it, had the rough idea that she was a priestess dedicated to Horus.

Earlier this year, I did a character design workshop with the students at Syn Studios, and as a demo, I decided to work their assignment into something for my own world.
