CHOCOLATE FRIED PIES

Is everyone getting ready for a sparkly Fourth of July? Speaking of "sparkly".....where in the world did the "sparklers" go to? I cannot find them anywhere!!! It's just not the "4th" without our Red, White and Blue Sparklers! We are planning a family cook-out and lots of swimming! I believe we are going to hit 96 degrees on Friday.......so..... ice cold lemonade and watermelon will certainly be on the menu! One of our very best memories is "eating" at the Canton Flea Market in Canton, Texas…

Chocolate Gravy1 T. all purpose flour2 T. cocoa powder1/2 C. sugar3/4 C. whole milk2 T. butter (not margarine)1/2 tsp. vanilla extract In a small pot, add the flour and cocoa powder, whisk to combine. Whisk in the sugar and combine well. Turn the heat on med. high and whisk in the milk, quickly combining the ingredients. Continue whisking till it comes to a low boil. Reduce the heat to medium and whisk until it thickens up like gravy. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
