In this picture I'm wearing a Guntino, a long stretch of cloth tied over the shoulder and draped around the waist. Our mothers and grandmothers used to wear Guntino as regular, day-to-day attire. On my first trip back to my homeland, the first thing I observed was how Somali cultural identity has been placed under severe stress.
