The motto of the Girls Guides resonates through this rare 1970s Lee denim jacket decorated with 30+ badges and patches celebrating the achievement of young women, camping and other scouting, brownies and guiding events. I'm calling this one \"The Guiding Force\" for all the positive messages it sends. The patches incorporate various style -- printed, embroidered and woven. Many of these patches were earned by myself, including the \"wings\" from flying up from Brownies. I have fond memories of Camp Ma-kee-wa near Orangeville, Ontario with my best friend Louise. The remaining patches were mostly found on a very cool leather scout's vest while I was thrifting in Los Angeles.
