Coffee & Cards Kit Together: Calm & Bright

Last weekend, I held my first Coffee & Cards Kit Together at a local bakery/restaurant.  Ten people had signed up, but only 6 could make it due to the illness.  (I will be rescheduling with the four who fell ill as they are a group of friends.)  We had a great time crafting together with the (currently unavailable but will be back in stock) Calm & Bright card kit.

This kit creates 9 cards, 3 each of 3 designs.  Most of the ladies had never stamped before, so they definitely built up their confidence!

The only thing we needed that wasn't included in the kit was scissors to cut the thread.

Can you see the iridescence on some of the die cuts?  They add such a pretty sparkle (because the holidays should definitely sparkle and shine).

Two hours was not enough time to put all 9 cards together, so I will schedule better next time!  (There will be a next time, probably in January.  Let me know if you're interested in attending!)

Happy Halloween (October Card Class #4) & a Bonus

This card was so fun to make (and was sent to one of my daughters already)!  It's another tri-panel interlocking card (like the one I made for my nephew HERE).

I used Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, and Shy Shamrock glimmer paper, plus black, white, and Petunia Pop cardstock.

I die cut the sentiments from the Words of the Season dies.  The cat is a Cricut cut.

Here is the bonus side-stair card that I made for our other daughter.  I added a little Cricut spider and wrote her message on the back.

Hope you have a SPOOK-tacular Halloween!

Six Peaceful Garden Cards from One Sheet

Here are the six cards that I made with the Stampin' Up! Craft Along One Sheet Wonder (see p. 42 of the September-December Mini Catalog) for my World Card Making Day Open Studio Crop.  I used a sheet of  Peaceful Garden DSP; Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, and Basic White cardstock; a piece of Secret Sea glimmer pair; paired with Secret Sea & Cloud Cover ink and Hues of Blues embellishments.  I used my Beautiful Motifs bundle (stamp set & dies).

Card #1's technique was adding ink blending, so I chose to try adding Petal Pink and a scrap of Petal Pink cardstock.

This card uses the Beautiful Motif dies and fussy cutting from the Peaceful Garden DSP.

I used both Cloud Clover cardstock and Secret Sea glimmer paper for the pretty fern accents.

Both the previous and this card use both sides of this pretty DSP.

I stamped the background of my card base with Cloud Cover ink.  I also ink distressed the edges of the focal panel with Secret Sea ink.

Customers of mine can request this one-sheet-wonder template if you don't have it already!

Happy Fall (Birthday), Y’all! (September Card Class #1)

This card is the first card of four that my lovely ladies and I made at my September monthly card class.  (Please reach out if you'd like to know more!  I teach monthly card and scrapbooking classes in my home with kit options available if you're not local or can't attend in person.  I also offer class instructions PDFs for a small fee.)

This card features the gorgeous Earthen Toned Metallics 12"x12" Specialty Paper dry embossed with the Peaceful Greenery 3-D embossing folder.  (Don't you love how a Christmas-themed suite can also be used for fall?)  I stamped the sentiment from the With You in Mind stamp set with Pecan Pie ink on the Very Vanilla die cut label.  I cut the Pecan Pie sprig from the coordinating Peaceful Garden dies and the Crushed Curry sprig from the (retired) Perennial Lavender dies.  I stamped the leaves from past Paper Pumpkin kits in Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow then fussy cut.  I finished with Streaked Dots and some linen thread.

Don’t you love the shine of the Earth and tone metallic specialty paper?

August Card Class #4: Happy Birthday Fun-Fold Card

Again I made two versions of this fun-fold birthday card for my August class using the Kintsugi Inspirations DSP.

The sentiment from Layered Thoughts was heat embossed using two different techniques.

I kept the inside plain for the message and to highlight that pretty DSP.

My next card class will be September 14, so please reach out if you'd like to know more!

August Card Class #3: Thinking of You Triple-Layer Bridge Card

This card is much easier to make than it looks at first!  At my August card class, we made versions of this triple-layer bridge card using the Kintsugi Inspirations DSP.

See how the large vase acts as a bridge to connect the top and bottom pieces?

For the top card, I stamped the sentiment from With You in Mind in Lagoon and for the second card, in Night of Navy.  I kept the inside plain to have plenty of room for a message.

Who would you send this card to?

By the way, my next card class will be held September 14, so message me if you'd like more information!

August Card Class #2: Love to You

This card uses a fun sketch to highlight the Celebratory Sips DSP and an inky ombre technique with Strawberry Slush, Berry Burst, and Blackberry Bliss inks.  I used a Nested Essential die cut and also fussy cut the "to you" sentiment, all from the Layered Thoughts stamp set.

The Timid Tiger Two-Tone cardstock panel was dry embossed with the Beautiful Butterflies hybrid embossing folder.  Every card needs an embellishment, and the 25-26 In Color Flat Gems are the perfect finishing touch.

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #7

Nancy A. designed and taught this fun fold for our final virtual retreat class.

I grabbed a birthday sentiment from the Arched Wishes stamp set.

You really need to see this one in person to appreciate its beauty.

We are looking forward to collaborating and doing this again!  We will definitely be including more fun folds and techniques in future virtual retreats.

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #6

In addition to the projects I'm sharing with you, each of us also included a bonus "tip" video for participants.  Here is the pretty card that Darla designed and taught.

Since I didn't buy the coordinating embossing folder, I made a stencil to blend leaves onto the card panel to give it some texture.  First, I grabbed old cardstock and die cut the leaves out of the bottom to create the stencil.

Then carefully use masking or washi tape to hold the stencil to the card front.
Use a blending brush to layer in (Old Olive and a little Garden Green).
Remove the stencil.

I like how it turned out and hope you do too!

Mauvelous Lollies Virtual Retreat Project #5

April designed and taught this fun sunflower side gate fold card.

I love the subtleness of the tone-on-tone stamping of the sunflowers in Pecan Pie.

Be sure to decorate the inside of your card and the coordinating envelope!

In case you missed it (and you're counting), you can find project #4, the scrapbook layout that I designed and taught, HERE.

June Card Class #4: Relax & Enjoy Gift Card Holder

Our final card of our monthly class is always the most advanced, and this one might deceive you at first with its simplicity!

In addition to the Notes & Totes bundle, we added the 3D Waves embossing folder and a tearing technique.

The inside is the wow factor!

The tote could hold a gift card or cash!

If you'd like to recreate this yourself, please consider shopping with me HERE if you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Thank you!  Also, my July card and scrapbooking class will be 7/27 at 3 PM in my home.  Let me know if you'd like to attend!  Or if you'd rather I custom design a class for you and a few friends, let me know!

June Card Class #3: You're Fabulous

This card really needs to be viewed in person to see all of the details!  I started with that beautiful tote bag die cut from a piece of Beautiful Gallery 6"x6" DSP and filled it with "sprigs" from the Beautiful Motifs dies from that suite.

What is challenging to see here is the 3D damask embossing on the Misty Moonlight and Cloud Cover panels.

If you'd like to recreate this yourself, please consider shopping with me HERE if you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Thank you!  Also, if you like this card, then you will probably love my July card and scrapbooking class will be 7/27 at 3 PM in my home.  Let me know if you'd like to attend!  Or if you'd rather I custom design a class for you and a few friends, let me know!

June Card Class #2: Just a Note

The Notes and Totes bundle is so fun for summer (although you can be sure I am going to carry it across all seasons this year)!  The second card we made featured the bundle (stamp set and dies) paired with Celebratory Sips DSP.

I used Fresh Freesia, Bubble Bath, Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, and White Willow cardstock.  The flowers were made with Impressions Abloom dies.  I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss (and wish I had tucked it into the tote bag instead of floating it on the card front).

If you'd like to recreate this yourself, please consider shopping with me HERE.  Thank you!  Also, my July card and scrapbooking class will be 7/27 at 3 PM in my home.  Let me know if you'd like to attend!  Or if you'd rather I custom design a class for you and a few friends, let me know!

June Card Class #1: Celebratory Sips

Since Stampin' Up! is a side hustle for me, I am not very good at preparing in advance for my classes to advertise the projects we are going to make, and I am very grateful for my faithful friends who trust me to teach classes they will enjoy!  (You can always see past projects to see if you'd like to attend.)

The first card we made uses Celebratory Sips DSP.  We fussy cut the drinks from a sheet of DSP for a fun celebrate card.  (The sentiment is from Beautiful Motifs stamp set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss.)

My July card and scrapbooking class will be 7/27 at 3 PM in my home.  Let me know if you'd like to attend!  Or if you'd rather I custom design a class for you and a few friends, let me know!

Another Wildflower Birthday Card

The Wildflower Birthday is one of the features in my January card making and scrapbooking class (that had to be postponed until 1/26 due to weather).  While we won't be making this card, it's one that I made for a small swap with a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators.

Supplies:
With You in Mind stamp set

Wildflower Birthdays DSP

Pool Party two-tone cardstock

Pretty in Pink cardstock

White Willow cardstock

Pool Party Stampin’ Pad

Gold gems (leftover from a Paper Pumpkin kit)

If you're local to me, consider attending class on January 26! Just message me for all the details.

Nests of Winter Card Class: Card #1

Last month's card and scrapbook class featured the Nests of Winter collection and Winterly Tree Tops bundle (stamp set, dies, & DSP).

The first card started with Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Mossy Meadow card stock with a strip of Cherry Cobbler DSP from Seasons of Elegance.  I used my Cherry Cobbler and Bronze/Ivory Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to color the wreath and bird and then added some Drusy gold gems.

To create the cool Crumb Cake background, after running the cardstock through the 3D Birchwood embossing folder, I dragged my Crumb Cake Stampin' Pad over the embossed panel, adding ink to the raised portions only (for the most part).

Bay Window Card 2

Here is the bay window card that we made in my August card class.  (Please let me know if you'd like more info about the classes I offer!  I love sharing paper crafting!). We used the Thoughtful Journey DSP and a sentiment from Country Ducks stamp set with die cuts from Perennial Lavender.

Don't forget to decorate an envelope for an even more special delivery!

Bay Window Card 1

The bay window is a fun fold card that folds flat for mailing but can then stand up.  I made this card out of the beautiful Thoughtful Journey DSP as a prototype for my August card class.

First is the card standing up and second is the card laying flat for mailing.  (The far right side of the card front will tuck into the right side of the inside of the card so it will stand.)

I used a sentiment from the July paper pumpkin kit and dies from the Perennial Lavender collection.

Tomorrow I'll share the card we made in class.  Remember, this DSP and others are on sale for 15% off until the end of the month.
