Happy Halloween (October Card Class #4) & a Bonus

This card was so fun to make (and was sent to one of my daughters already)!  It's another tri-panel interlocking card (like the one I made for my nephew HERE).

I used Peach Pie, Petunia Pop, and Shy Shamrock glimmer paper, plus black, white, and Petunia Pop cardstock.

I die cut the sentiments from the Words of the Season dies.  The cat is a Cricut cut.

Here is the bonus side-stair card that I made for our other daughter.  I added a little Cricut spider and wrote her message on the back.

Hope you have a SPOOK-tacular Halloween!

Autumn Toile Interlocking Panel Birthday Card

My firstborn nephew turned 19 last weekend, and I made this fun interlocking panel birthday card for him with the Autumn Toile DSP.

It was also the model for a Halloween card we made at my October card class, so my customers will receive printed instructions to make this card.

I think it turned out beautifully!

Happy birthday, Alex!

Peace on Earth Card #2 (September Card Class #4)

One of the Artisan Design Team members inspired this card!  (The Artisan Design Team is a group of selected demonstrators who create for Stampin' Up!'s socials and to inspire everyone.)

I used the Peaceful Garden bundle (stamp set and dies) plus the 3D Birch embossing folder.  Inks are Secret Sea and Cloud Cover (blended on the circle die).  What do you think of the Secret Sea glimmer paper dove?

I like how we cut off the card front edge and then adhered it to the card base to make this white-on-white card more interesting.

Another Flap Card

Happy World Card Making Day!!! This card is very similar to the sympathy card I recently shared, but this time I used a piece of the gorgeous Beautiful Gallery 6"x6" DSP as my focal panel.  For the flap, I added two Everyday Arches dies (Secret Sea and Basic White).  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set (part of the Beautiful Gallery suite).

To decorate the inside, I cut two 3/4" squares on the diagonal, sort of like old time photo corners.

I may stamp the inside when I decide who will be getting this card.  Who would you send it to?

Birthday Wishes Double Easel Card

Here's another fun birthday card I made and sent to someone recently.   I used scraps from the now retired Wildflower Birthdays collection to make a double easel card.

I stamped the sentiment from the With You in Mind stamp set in Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party, then fussy cut around the edges.

The gold foil accents are part of this collection.

August Card Class #4: Happy Birthday Fun-Fold Card

Again I made two versions of this fun-fold birthday card for my August class using the Kintsugi Inspirations DSP.

The sentiment from Layered Thoughts was heat embossed using two different techniques.

I kept the inside plain for the message and to highlight that pretty DSP.

My next card class will be September 14, so please reach out if you'd like to know more!

As you can see, I made eight of these for a swap with my Mauvelous Lollies team.  Happy Friday!

Bookbinding Birthday Card (Two Ways)

At my April card class, we made this fun bookbinding birthday card featuring the Arched Wishes stamp set and Bright & Beautiful 6"x6" DSP.  We tried a fun coloring technique where we created a stencil and "colored" the cupcake with blending brushes.

Since the DSP is 6"x6", it's easy to add a strip to the inside for a little extra fun.

The second card that I made is a faux bookbinding because of the arched panel instead of the square front.

I like the fun stripes on the back of the DSP for the inside of the card!  This DSP is on the Last Chance list, so get it before it's gone.

This time, I decorated the inside with stamps from the stamp set.  Always dress up the inside of your card and its coordinating envelope!

Wildflower Cross Card

Happy Easter!  We made this pop-up cross card at my April class using the Wildly Flowering DSP and Country Woods DSP.  It will fold flat for mailing.

Butterfly Die Cut Note Cards

In the Beautiful Butterflies dies or bundle, there is a butterfly outline with straight edges at the top.  This die is meant to be used with our note cards and envelopes to create the perfect butterfly cards.  I love how mine turned out.

For my first card, I left the note card open (not folded in half yet to make the card), adhered the pretty Full of Life 6x6 DSP to the front (only) and then carefully lined up my die on the front of the card.  That left the back of the card as a rectangle.  I added the die cut overlay (also Full of Life DSP) and the butterfly body.  I used a black journaling pen to outline around the butterfly so that I could easily know where to write (or not write) on my card base.  I finished off the card with adhesive discs.  Don't forget to decorate your envelope!  I covered the flap with leftover Full of Life DSP that matches my card front.

My second card uses the same die but I folded the note card in half and then cut it with the butterfly card die to make a butterfly-shaped card.  I attached it to a piece of 4-1/4"x5-1/2" piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to make my card "base" (it doesn't open) and added a smaller piece of Beautiful Bokeh DSP.  On the actual butterfly card, I stamped the base wings in Balmy Blue and then added the Daffodil Delight die cut overlay.  After stamping and cutting out the sentiment, I added a little Balmy Blue ink with a blending brush because the white-on-white didn't look that great.  I finished this off the a Basic Black butterfly body and some Itty Bitty Bokey Mix.

You’re Berry Special Card

Here's a fun fold card featuring the Sale-A-Bration Fruit Salad DSP

I used a retired CTMH stamp set from my stash since it coordinated so well.  I stamped my sentiment in Granny Apple Green and the strawberries in Real Red (using the stamping off/second generation technique).

We will be making a similar card at my class next weekend (which was snowed out from the original date).  You're invited, and bring a friend!

DSP Fun Fold Card

Grab a piece of DSP with two coordinating sides to make this pretty card!  I started with a Reindeer Fun DSP base that measures 12" x 5 1/2" and uses a few simple scored lines to make this fun fold.

On the reindeer side, I stamped additional snowflakes in Pool Party from the One of a Kind bundle and embellished with coordinating cardstock dies.

Remember, everything in the mini catalog is only available while supplies last, and most holiday items are also available at a discount, so be sure to grab yours now!

Sliding Gift Card Holder #2

This card was actually my prototype for my November card class, using the Reindeer Fun DSP and the Snowy Wonder stamp set.  It was made the same way as this card.

Sliding Gift Card Holder

For my November card class, our fancy fold card was this sliding gift card holder made with the Snowy Wonder bundle and Snow Scenes DSP.

The card opens from the top, and then the gift card pocket slides out of the bottom pocket of the card.  (It makes more sense in person, believe me!)

This card is a fun way to give a gift card for the holidays or any time!  Class participants received digital  instructions to make it easier to recreate.

Birdhouse Card

This "birdhouse" card was fun and fairly easy to make!

I began with a piece of White Willow 4.25"x11" cardstock.  After scoring at 5.5" to make it a top-fold card, I marked 2" on each side from the top.  I then scored the two diagonals you see below to make the triangle top to the card.  Also, I cut a circle in the front of a Crumb Cake cardstock panel (which I would make smaller next time) and then embossed it with the 3D birchwood embossing folder.

Here is the inside of the card with the scored lines folded.

And a side view to help see how the card comes together.

I used the Nests of Winter suite for all of the card elements.  I will definitely try this card again, and I hope you will too!

Fun Fold Reindeer Card

You might be thinking that it's too early for reindeer, but crafters often have to work ahead of seasons and holidays!  Thanks for indulging me!

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is all of the training and support you receive, should you choose to take advantage of it. As part of an ongoing series of video training, I was invited to attend an evening of virtual stamping last month with the Stampin' Up! demonstrator support team. We participated in a mystery stamping (among other fun things) where I made this card.

What is Mystery Stamping?  Everyone is given the same instructions but not the finished product.  You craft together and then share your unique creations.  (We might have some mystery stamping tonight at my virtual craft night!)  For my card, I used the Reindeer Fun collection, with Garden Green, Real Red, and White Willow card stock.  I added a little red gem from my stash to make "Rudolph's" nose.  The red panel tucks under the triangle and then opens up to expose the inside of the card.

Splendid Autumn Gate-Fold Card

This card didn't turn out quite like planned because I made a mistake cutting the Splendid Autumn DSP, but I actually love it!  It's a gate-fold card that opens off center.

Since I cut the side panel too small, I ended up stamping the leaves from the Christmas Wishes kit in Mossy Meadow on both the die cut sentiment and on the left panel.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Sentimental Park bundle (which is where the hexagon die is from).  I adhered the die cut pieces of the Perennial Lavender suite and the mesh leaves on the left panel and then covered it with the hexagon piece.

I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I also stamped the leaves on opposite corners of the White Daisy panel for added interest.

My next card and scrapbooking classes will be held on October 20 at 4 PM following a FREE World Card Making Day crop beginning at 1:00.  If you're in my area, I'd love for you to join us!  (Please RSVP so that I have enough space prepared.)

Country Ducks Easel Card

Here's a fun easel card that is easy to make but packs a big wow!  First I die cut the pond frame, cattails, lily pads, and flowers from the Lily Pond Lane suite and assembled all the pieces.  I scored the card front at 2-1/8" and only adhered my elements to the bottom half of the card front.

On the inside, I used dimensionals to pop up the DSP strip and sentiment so that when you open the card and fold down the front panel, it will stand up.

This fun fold card is easier to make than you might think!  I'd love for you to try one and share!

Splendid Autumn Fancy Fold Birthday Card

Splendid Autumn is a new collection available in the Sept.-Dec. mini catalog, and I had fun creating this card to celebrate an autumn birthday.

I used two different sheets of Splendid Autumn DSP, the lavender asters pattern for the side bar and the fancy-fold "flower," and the back of one of the tree patterns for the large rectangle.  I used Wild Wheat cardstock, faux glass gem, and rustic ribbon along with the new golden woven leaves.

Who has a fall birthday?

Bay Window Card 2

Here is the bay window card that we made in my August card class.  (Please let me know if you'd like more info about the classes I offer!  I love sharing paper crafting!). We used the Thoughtful Journey DSP and a sentiment from Country Ducks stamp set with die cuts from Perennial Lavender.

Don't forget to decorate an envelope for an even more special delivery!
