Oh Christmas Tree Layout

Usually I don’t make layouts before I have my photos, but I know that I will take several portrait (vertical) photos of our Christmas tree this year. I enjoyed making this layout at my November open studio crop with the Branching Out dies, Elegant Pines Snowflake DSP, and two retired stamp sets.

I love all the shades of green in this DSP (Designer Series Paper).  It’s really nice to be “ahead” with this layout (while I ignore all the other projects I am behind on).

Autumn Toile Interlocking Panel Birthday Card

My firstborn nephew turned 19 last weekend, and I made this fun interlocking panel birthday card for him with the Autumn Toile DSP.

It was also the model for a Halloween card we made at my October card class, so my customers will receive printed instructions to make this card.

I think it turned out beautifully!

Happy birthday, Alex!

Six Christmas Cards from One Sheet

Here is another set of one-sheet-wonder cards that I made using the same template as before (see those cards HERE) but with a definite Christmas twist this time.

I used a sheet of (retired) Reindeer Fun DSP paired with Early Espresso, Real Red, and Garden Green card bases.  I added in a few pieces other DSP from the same collection and a tree from the leftover die cuts.  I used a retired Paper Pumpkin stamp set for my sentiments and some red pearl embellishments from my stash.  These came together quickly and easily.

Again, if you're a customer of mine and would like the template, just let me know (or become a new customer and let me know)!

Thinking of You (Artisan Design Team CASE) Card

One thing I often hear customer say is that they are not creative. (That's one of the reasons I fell in love with stamping!)  When I am not feeling creative, I love to browse my idea books or Stampin’ Up!’s Instagram or Facebook. When I find something I like, I CASE it (copy and share exactly) only with my own twist.  This card was inspired by one of our Artisan Design Team members.

I made this card on one of my Facebook Thursday night lives (HERE at 7:30 each Thursday).

I used Autumn Metallics specialty DSP with the Peaceful Garden embossing folder; Autumn Toile DSP; Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, & Pecan Pie cardstock; Cajun Craze ink; and Streaked Dots.

Hey, Pumpkin Card

Did you know that I host a live video on my Inky Scrapper Facebook page each Thursday evening at 7:30?  Recently, I made this card using the Autumn Toile DSP and the September Paper Pumpkin stamp set.  (Learn more about Paper Pumpkin subscription box HERE!)

I used colored pencils to color the pumpkins and to create the faux stitching.  I based this card on a sketch idea in the September-December Mini Catalog.  I love how a sketch inspires me to be creative.

I will be featuring these products in my October card and scrapbook class on 10/19.  If you can't attend in person, you can request a kit.  Email me for more info!

Flight Solo Layout

A few months ago, my sixteen-year-old nephew successfully soloed, and I was thrilled to be invited to be there!  We are so excited to welcome a third-generation pilot into the family!  Of course I had to use the Take to the Sky DSP to create a layout of this very special day (and I do have his permission to post it).

I cut several arches out of the DSP with the Everyday Arches dies and stamped a few tiny airplanes on the layout from the coordinating stamp set.  I cut the large circle on my Cricut and die cut the title with my Alphabet a la Mode dies with Misty Moonlight cardstock.

The biplane accent on the right page was actually on a card that I received in a swap at OnStage last month, so I carefully cut it off to use on this layout since I didn't get this stamp set myself.

The gray gems were in my stash and added just enough sparkle to keep this layout interesting without being too girly.  Way to go, Will!  We are so proud of you!  Thanks for letting me be part of this special day!

NOTE: The Take to the Sky suite is in the Last Chance section at a discount so grab yours today before all of the elements are gone!

Thinking of You In Colors Card

This card design is a favorite of mine, and I had fun making these as part of my swaps for Stampin' Up!'s recent annual convention, OnStage, in Raleigh.  I used the Unbounded Beauty DSP with Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock, and Petunia Pop stampin' pads.  I used the Nested Essentials dies for the focal sentiment and fussy cut the flower and leaves.  A few In Color shimmer gems finished off the card.

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #10 of 10

It's time for the final card sketch of this series!

I had fun using the Everyday Arches instead of the featured ovals. Take a sketch and make it your own!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #9 of 10

Who is ready for spring?  Today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time (although I honestly wish we could just decide on one time for the entire year), but at least that means that spring is approaching!  Are you ready for card sketch #9?

Although the image seems to show thread or ribbon behind the focal image, I think that the Sentimental Park die cut is a great substitute without having any threads.
I used Floral Delights DSP paired with the Sentimental Park stamp set and dies with Old Olive Stampin' Pad.  I love all the details of the dies (cut with Basic White, Olive Olive, and Daffodil Delight cardstock).  These products make it easy to make pretty cards.  I hope that you like it too!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #8 of 10

Are you ready to try the 8th card sketch from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog?

I used the Wildflower Birthday DSP which includes some beautiful die cuts as part of the collection.

Can you see how I scored the Soft Sea Foam cardstock to give it some interest and texture?  I added a few gold adhesive-backed sparkle gems to compliment the gold foil accents of the DSP/die cuts (though they didn't photograph well).

I can't wait to see what you make with this sketch!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #7 of 10

This week is the final week of Sale-A-Bration, so if you haven't taken advantage of these fun special offers, be sure to do so before the end of the month!  Here's card sketch #7 to inspire you.

I used my Beautiful Butterflies bundle with the To Market DSP from the annual catalog.  I stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink

To create the plaid banner, I die cut a banner with the Nested Essentials dies and then cut it in half to stretch it longer. I then hid the cut with the Garden Green panel, also cut with the Nested Essentials dies.

A few In Color shimmer gems in Peach Pie nicely finished off the card.

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #6 of 10

The 6th sketch in this series is another fun one!  I grabbed my Beautiful Butterflies hybrid embossing folder and dies and Full of Life 6"x6" DSP to make my card.

I started with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock that I dry embossed with the 3D Soft Waves embossing folder.  Rather than cut a square, I die cut a Blueberry Bushel rectangle with my Nested Essentials dies to ground the main butterfly on the card front.  The large butterfly was embossed and cut out of Daffodil Delight card stock.  For the smaller butterfly, I had planned to use the grid side but loved the blue stripes on the back instead.  As I die cut the butterfly pieces, I also die cut the Basic Black cardstock bodies.

A few Tinsel Gems Four-Pack adhesive dots finished off the card. I really like how it turned out!

Wildflower Birthday Layout

All of our birthdays were pretty low-key last year, so I decided to compile them all on one layout in our family album.  This layout is also the layout we made in my January scrapbooking class.

We use the wildflower birthday DSP, including the awesome die cuts and added some blueberry bushel and gold foil card stock. I stamped happy birthday in pool party from the with you in mind stamp set.

Scrapbooking doesn’t have to be overwhelming, and you don’t have to include all of your pictures. I think it would be fun to have at minimum an album that celebrates the highlights of the year like birthdays and holidays. If you’d like help getting started scrapbooking or if you’re an experienced scrapbook Who wants company, reach out!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #5 of 10

The fifth card sketch in the Jan.-Apr. '25 Mini Catalog was hard for me, but I really like what I ended up creating.  I hope that you do, too!  (I love how a challenge can stretch you creatively!)

I grabbed some of my current stash and went to work.  I used a 1-1/4" punch to cut a circle in the front of my card base and then in Totally Toadstools DSP to create the three circles.  I die cut the oval sentiment piece and then did a combo of paper trimmer and fussy cutting for the sentiment strip.

It was fun to punch one of the circles all the way through the card front to adhere the DSP circle on the inside, peek-a-boo style.

I thought that circle was too plain by itself, so I added a few more on the inside.

My sentiments were stamped with Pebbled Path from the Everyday Arches collection, and the adorable snail on the inside is from a fall Paper Pumpkin kit.

Have fun getting creative with a challenge, because you never know how you'll grow!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #4 of 10

For the fourth installment of the Mini Catalog sketches, I have two cards for you today.

The first card uses Wildflower Birthdays with the Labeled with Love stamp set.  I stamped the three presents in Peach Pie ink, stamping off and then rolling the edges in the ink again before stamping on scrap cardstock.  I quickly fussy cut them and the Pool Party sentiment.  I popped up the sentiment on top of the pretty pink twine from my stash and added some Party Dots.  I absolutely love the pretty flowers and gold foil in this collection!

For the second card, I used three 1" squares from the Totally Toadstools DSP adhered to a band of 1 3/4" DSP.  After stamping the January 2025 Paper Pumpkin stamp set sentiment in Granny Apple Green, I trimmed it down with my trimmer and fussy cut around the top of the L.  I thought it was a little too plain so I stamped the small heart in Melon Mambo, fussy cut, and added to the center panel and also stamped the large heart in Granny Apple Green with the smaller Melon Mambo heart inside.

I'll be mailing this card to our older daughter this week for her Valentine card after I added it to a card base and create something pretty on the inside.

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #3 of 10

The third card sketch on p. 12 of the Mini Catalog is actually the first one that I made.

I began with the Fruit Salad 6"x6" DSP (FREE with a $60 purchase in January or February) and my new With You in Mind stamp set.  I also grabbed the three dies that coordinate with the Labeled with Love stamp set.
Notice how I stamped Thank and You separately (it's one fairly large stamp that was too large for this sketch).  I fussy cut the green apple out of the DSP.  The twine is leftover from the Christmas collections.

Remember, Sale-A-Bration free items are only available this month and next with a $60 and/or $120 purchase!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #2 of 10

It's time for the second card sketch featured on p. 12 of the new Mini Catalog!  This sketch was also used in the Sept.-Dec. Mini as card #4 (which you can view HERE).

This time, I rotated the sketch and moved from winter to spring!

I stamped the birthday sentiment from With You in Mind stamp set in Peach Pie and then layered onto a piece of Wildflower Birthday DSP and then added die cuts from the DSP collection.  With all the pretty gold foil, I didn't feel the need to add any further embellishments to this quick and easy card.

Next Sunday, we'll be using this collection for my card and scrapbooking classes!  All are welcome, but please RSVP by 1/24.

Bon Appétit (Hey, Good Lookin’) Layout

Our younger daughter likes to cook and is a Dolly Parton fan, so I couldn't resist preordering Dolly's new cookbook as a Christmas gift for my girl.  I definitely think she loved it, because she decided to cook for our family between Christmas and New Year's.  I absolutely love that I've already scrapbooked this amazing evening!

I used the Reindeer Fun DSP and scrapbooking kit DSP and a sketch from the Creative Design Team (CDT) Sketchbook #1.  I love using sketches to help unlock my creativity!  I always put my personal twist on the suggested "recipe."

I used my CTMH/Cricut Flower Market collection for the holly leaves and some gems from my stash for the "berries."  The fun wooden embellishments are retired from CTMH.

I stamped my title banner with a retired CTMH stamp set.

This layout does a great job of showing off the two-toned cardstock and how versatile it is to have two shades of the same color in one cardstock!

Sundays Are for Sketches: Jan.-April '25 Mini Catalog Sketch #1 of 10

On p. 12 of the brand new January-April 2025 Mini Catalog, you'll find ten card and twelve tag sketches to inspire your creativity.

Here's my take on card sketch #1.

I used the Sale-A-Bration Totally Toadstools DSP (FREE with a minimum $60 purchase through 2/28) paired with the Everyday Arches bundle.

To create the cool "hello" sentiment, I started with a piece of White Willow cardstock that I had cut with the Sentimental Park dies and then cut it down with the Everyday Arches dies after stamping "hello" in Melon Mambo.

Here's the finished sentiment piece:

I hope that this sketch will inspire you to create!  If you do, please link your project in the comments.  Happy crafting!
