Bingo

I joined a swap this month at the Rubber Inkers with the theme of Bingo.  I had this Bingo embossing folder that I thought was perfect for this swap.

The embossed Bingo image was coloured with Distress Inks in several colours.  The rubber stamp I used for the from of the card was a portion of a rubber stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms called GM Series.  I coloured the image also with Distress Inks.

I added some stars, Ephemara papers , arrow brad, mess tape for dry walling (background), ribbon, faux stitches and travel stamps to make up  my collage card.   Hope my swap partner enjoys the card I made them.

Thank you for stopping by tonight and have a creative day.

Mix Media Birthday Card

I was playing with one of my favourite products tonight, PanPastels.  I made this birthday card for my dear friend Jenny for her birthday.  Hope she likes my card.

I coloured my background with three different colours of PanPastels  and then created more layers with three different background stamps over top of the areas I coloured.  The next step was to use two different stencils to create texture on the card.  I used this process in different areas of the card.  After my background was complete  add a few torn  strips of the Washi tape from the Tim Holtz collection and a ribbon.  Can you see all the products that I have used on the card?  Here is a close up.

The birthday celebration stamp is by Verses Rubber Stamps.  I have had the stamp in my collection for a very long time. The butterfly is a Cuttlebug die and embossing folder.  After I embossed the butterfly I coloured it with Distress Inks and edge it with a Gold Leaf pen by Krylon.  I only had a strip of white pearls for the spine of the butterfly so I coloured the pearls with the same Distress Ink I used for butterfly.

Thank you for looking.  Now back to my craft room to clean up.

The Season of Joy

Paige had a neat idea for this week's challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.  The idea is to create a card using something from the  first letter of your name.  I created my card with the theme of the Season of Joy for this challenge.  J is for Judy and J is for Joy.

The digital image I used is from Arty Pants Digital Images.  I added a sentiment, a little bit of glitter, coloured with Copics, edged with Distress Inks and added a large Christmas ribbon and my card was complete.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Hope you will join us at Holly Jolly.  We would like to see your creations.

Happy Mother's Day

I had fun creating this Mother's Day card.  I was playing around with Distress Inks and a couple of background stamps and a stencil to make the background of the card. The writing in the background is a rubber stamp by Hero Arts called Italian Poetry and the hydrangea stamp is by PSX.

After I stamped the background I used Tea Dye and Spun Sugar Distressed Ink over some areas and then stenciled the dots with  Milled Lavender Distress Ink.  A heart die cut on textured kraft paper was used for the heart and then it was rubbed with Tea Dye  Distress Ink. The laser cut butterfly was coloured with Distress Inks and Gold Liquid Pearls and then pearls were added.  The flowers were some silk wedding flowers I had in my stash that I coloured with Distressed Ink.

To complete the card I added a fringe of lace and pearls that I found at the flea market and a key that I found in my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to look.  Now I am headed back to my craft room to clean up the mess.

It's a Beautiful Day

Fred, She Said Designs has a wonderful new set of digital stamps that have been just released.  The set is called, Happy Flowers & Sentiments and includes many different sizes of flowers for layering they come coloured (oh so many happy colours) and also a package of images not coloured for you to get out your colouring pens and inks to colour them they way you would like them.  The set also included a bunch of digital sentiment stamps.  What a bargin this set is.

I have been traveling so I chose to use the set that I had to add my own colours to, I did not have my colour printer with me on vacation. My flowers and laves were coloured with several colours of distress inks and Martha Stewart coloured glitter. I used the same distress inks to colour the background of the card and a flourish die cut to tie my flowers together.  The sentiment is an old stamp in my collection by Rubber Stampede.

Don't these flowers make such a happy card. Stop over to Fred's store and check out the set.   Oh the possibilities.

Time for a Sketch at Come and Get It Challenges

Meighan chose a sketch for this challenge at Come and Get It Challenges this week.  This sketch would suit any themed card.
Fred, She Said Designs is the sponsor of this challenge and we have a prize for the winner.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

My friend Yvonne gave me this piece of wood veneer that I used for the background of this card.  I thought my stamp of a wolf's head would make a interesting image for my card.  I added a metal label from my collection of odds and ends and used Walnut Distress Ink to edge the papers.  The wolf rubber stamp is from  Old Island Rubber Stamp Company and the sentiment is by A Muse ArtStamp Company.

I hope you will join us this week at Come and Get It Challenges.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

Flourishes and Swirls

Come and Get it Challenges this week has a flourishes and swirl challenge.

It was the digital image by Arty Pants Digital stamps that I used for the background that inspired my card. I love the music pattern with it’s swirls and flourishes. I colored the image with a couple of colors of Distress Inks to bring out the pattern. Next I added a couple of flourishes, a bird, and bird cage all cut from Tim Holtz die cutters. The bird cage was embossed with several layers of metallic embossing powder to give it a metallic look.

The flower I added was not quite the right color so I coloured it with Distress Inks and added a center bling to tie in the color. A few black pieces of bling completed the card.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look at my card. I hope you will join us at Come and Get it the week . If you need some inspiration check out the beautiful creations of the other members of the design team.

Inspiration Photo

Isn’t Meighan’s inspirational photo for this weeks challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges beautiful. What stood out for me in the photo was the joy, the old time Christmas scene and the warm colors.

This is my card that I created based on Meighan’s inspirational photo.

The rubber stamp is by Cornish Heritage Farms and is from the "Saturday Evening Post " series called Santa’s Lap. I used Distress Inks to color the image and then added the sentiment with one of my alphabet letter set.

If Meighan’s photo inspires you, I hope that you create a card and join us this week at Holly Jolly.

Your Favorite Things

Shopping Your Stash Challenge 66: this week is to use your favorite things. This Christmas card uses some of my favorite digi image by Arty Pants, Distress inks and Metallic Rubs.

I printed my image on file folder paper and rubbed on layers last year’s Christmas Distress Ink colors of festive berries, iced spruce and evergreen boughs. I added some glitter pen to parts of the image to give it a more festive feel along with a gold card stock background and and a gold ribbon.

The Merry and Bright sentiment is from a free set of digi images by Kimm at Beary Scrap which I colored with metallic rubs. I have used these sentiments many times, they are nice to have in your stock of supplies. I used my sets of Alphabet stamps to add the Dec. 25th to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and do something creative for yourself. Remember my favorite quote is by Maya Angelou. "You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have."

Inspiration - Day 2

I created this tag for day two as card captain at Michael Strong Rubber Stamps using Mike’s dragonfly rubber stamp. To make the collage tag I used several different rubber stamps and distress inks and then flicked water on the card to make the water spots and blend the ink (squirt and flick technique). The stamps I used along with the dragonfly were:

Postal Stamp by Rubber Stampede
Sentiment - Inspiration (unknown)
Cheese cloth background rubber stamp by Stampin Up

Hope you enjoyed today’s creation and have a creative day.
