Mixed Media Card with Flowers

I made this card for a friend's birthday that is coming up soon.  The flowers I used for my card came from my stash and I believe they are from Bo Bunny.  The background and leaves are cut from a Gelli Print paper I had made using bubble wrap, acrylic paint and inks.  I used a Sizzix die for the leaves called "leaves".

I used Distress Ink on my doilies, fence and background for my stamped sentiment.  The butterfly is a digital image from Fitztown that I printed on Gelli Print paper.

Hope you enjoy the card.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

Winter Scene Project - Tealight

This is my inspiration project for the winter scene challenge this week.  I just love the winter snowbirds from Morgan Fitzsimon's winter collection.  You can find the snowbird 1 here and snowbird here. Both images come in both coloured and uncoloured.

I really had fun making this tea light project.  I found a pattern for the lantern at the Whiff of Joy blog. The blog has a very detailed tutorial for the tea Light holder.

I got excited when I was colouring my little snowbird.  I used sour apple fun flock for one of the hats and diamond flower soft for the snow and the trim of the other snowbirds hat. I also used red Stickles as a trim on one hat and bow.

I coloured the images with Copics and a white gell pen.The tree is a Tim Holtz die and , the green panel is a die, and a wooden bead and flower made up the top of the tea light.

This was a very fun project.  Come join us this week at Fitztown.  Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day.

It is a Pink and Silver Christmas

I  am hosting a challenge at Fitztown this week and the theme is a Pink or Silver Christmas.  I have made this tag to go on a gift for a little girl in my life.   I think the image I used from Fitztown's winter collection is just adorable.  She is called Winter 10 and can be purchased here

I used a dark silver glitter paper that I cut out with a Christmas bell diecut and cut my image out with a smaller one from the set. I trimmed the large diecut with pink paper.

The image was coloured with Copic Markers and a glitter pen.  Once I completed layering the diecuts I added a paper snowflake, snowflake button, pearl, ribbon and a bow.   I think this will look never nice on my little gift.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope your day is full of creativity.

Tag It Challenge at Fitztown.

This is my inspiration tag for the tag challenge this week at Fitztown.  I just love making tags.  I pulled out my gelli plate, dies, paint, fibers, stencils and one of favourite Fitztown image, garden 16.  Here is my tag:

The butterflies are part of a set of Morgan Fitzsimons butterfly collection.  There are 6 in the set and you can can purchase them here.  I ran the sheet of gelli print paper that I made through my printer then cut the butterflies out.  I have never printed on top of a gelli print before. I was so happy with the way they turned out that I ran several other pieces of gelli print through the printer in a variety of colours.  Now I have a stock of unique butterflies for other projects.

I cut out the tag with a Tim Holtz's die and added a piece on the top and bottom to give some interest. The paper was a gelli print that I had made for the project. I used a stencil by Donna Downy  for the flower. To make the flower stand out I outlined it with a black Sharpie. I added some fibers from my stash to complete the card.

You still have time to join us in the challenge just create your card with a tag or just a tag and enter it here
