Goodbye, September!

Faltan pocos días para el fin de Septiembre y el inicio de Octubre, ¡mi mes favorito del año! :)

Just a few days until the end of September and the beginning of October, my favorite month of the year! :)

... Y mientras termino la pequeña labor otoñal en la que trabajo actualmente, les dejo con las fotos del alfiletero que hice el fin de semana.

... And while I finish the small autumnal work which I am doing nowadays, I leave you photos of the pincushion I made last weekend.

¡Me encanta el resultado! Valieron la pena las horas (sí, horas) que pasé frente a la máquina de coser haciéndolo. El resultado ha sido posible gracias a la ayuda del estupendo Tutorial Alfiletero Estrella del blog de Cristina, quién nos muestra con fotos bastante explícitas e instrucciones claras la manera de hacerlo...

I love the result! It has been worth the hours (yes, hours) that I passed with the sewing machine doing it. The result has been possible thanks to the help of the great Morning Star Pincushion Tutorial from Cristina's Blog, who shows us with quite explicit photos and clear instructions how to do it.

Para muchas de ustedes, expertas en patchwork, es sólo una pequeña labor. Pero para mi ha sido un reto el unir todas esas piezas haciendo coincidir las costuras sin coser sobre las puntas de la estrella :D...No es perfecto, pero estoy muy satisfecha con el.

For many of you, experts in patchwork, is just a small work. But for me it was a challenge to join together all these pieces without stitching the tips of the star :D. .. It's not perfect, but I am very satisfied with it.

Al lavar el alfiletero terminado, la tela roja destiño un poco y manchó el bordado :(

La llave herrumbrosa me la regaló una tía hace más de 10 años. La otra la compré en un tianguis de mi ciudad... El dedal era de mi abuelita materna.

En esta ocasión, quiero mostrarles las fabulosas muestras de afecto que he recibido por parte de mi querida amiga Graciela, quien se armó de paciencia frente a su máquina de coser y ha logrado hacer unos maravillosos regalos por mi cumpleaños.

On this occasion, I want to show you the fabulous presents I received from my dear friend Graciela, who armed herself with lots of patience in front of her sewing machine and has achieved some wonderful gifts for my birthday.

Además de todos los bellos regalos que ha hecho con todo cariño para mi, también agregó unas hermosas telas y un práctico tapete/plancha de corte que estoy impaciente por probar y que seguro hará más rápido el tedioso trabajo de cortar las telas... ¡Qué emoción, nunca he usado uno de estos, esperemos que me vaya bien :D!!!

Besides all the lovely gifts she has done with affection for me, she added some beautiful fabrics and a handy cutting mat that I'm eager to try, it surely will speed the tedious job of cutting the fabric ...How exciting, I've never used one of these, hopefully I will do it well :D!!!

La bolsa tipo cesta ha resultado muy práctica por su tamaño, ¡le cabe todo lo necesario y más!!!... ¡Me encantan el olor y color de las lavandas, así que el colorido y el bordado con el diseño de Lavender's Blue de Little House Needleworks es perfecto!!! :)

La bolsa antes mencionada contenía pequeños tesoros dentro de ella, como este lindo monedero, que a su vez guardaba el pequeño y maravilloso bolso a crochet que ven abajo... y por supuesto que el bolso tejido estaba lleno... ¿de qué???...

The bag before mentioned, was filled with small treasures, like this cute purse, which kept inside this wonderful and small crocheted pouch you see below... and of course, the crocheted bag was full with something... with what???...

And if that wasn't enough, I also got this beautiful cushion where I can put the scissors, it has the beatiful embroidery "Roses Anciennes", by L' R de rien ...What beautiful colors, I loved the little rose and the lovely crocheted lace made by Graciela!!!... hopefully, someday I will learn to knit like her ;).

A María, la creadora de "Las Tildas de Arime" la conocí por casualidad. Un día me escribió para decirme que le gustaban mis creaciones y sólo por que si, ofreció enviarme unas telas Tilda. A todas nos encantan este tipo de detalles, sobretodo por el hecho de saber que alguien aprecia lo que haces con cariño. Hace unos días las telas llegaron a mis manos, pero a María no le bastaba con enviar la docena de hermosos fat quarters y agregó varios detalles hechos con mucho cariño por ella misma y varias cosas más. Las fotos les mostrarán mejor los bellos regalos de María...


I met María, the creator of "Las Tildas de Arime" by chance. One day she wrote to tell me that she liked my creations and just because, she offered to send me some Tilda fabrics. La funda para las tijeras la hice uniendo simplemente un par de corazones y la adorné con un yo-yo en forma de corazón... ¡me encantan estos yo-yos!!!
I made the scissors case by simply joining a couple of hearts and I embellish it with a heart-shape yo-yo... I love this kind of yo-yos!!!

Hace algunos días que recibí por parte de Graciela estos hermosos regalos que ha hecho con mucho cariño para mi.

Está por demás decir que todo ha sido de mi agrado... las telas, hilos y los accesorios tan bonitos y útiles para futuros proyectos, y que decir del costurero y el bolsito con mi inicial... es mejor que les muestre todo con más detalle...

Needless to say that everything has been of my pleasure ... the pretty fabrics, threads and all the embellishments for future projects... and what can I say about the round embroidery pouch and the little bag with my initial made from the tutorial of plume the lin... let's take a closer look... 

Este es el bolso hecho a partir del tutorial del blog "Plume de lin"... ¡me encantan los detalles a crochet y la etiqueta a la que ya he puesto un aro para los hilos!


This one is the bag done from the tutorial of the blog "Plume de lin" ... I am delighted with the crochet details it has and the embroidered tag to which I already have put a floss-ring!

El costurero redondo tiene en el centro un alfiletero-organizador de hilos que se puede quitar y poner al costurero gracias a un broche que tiene en el fondo ;)


The round pouch has a pincushion-threads organizer that can be remove from the embroidery-pouch thanks to a clasp that it has on the bottom ;)




Y además de todo lo anterior, también recibí un sachet con un bordado precioso y un almohadoncito con el diseño "Rose Garden" the Blackbird Designs, bordado con un antiguo hilo "Cartier Bresson".

Calabacitas, pumpkins, zucche, citrouilles...

Me llevó algo de tiempo realizar estas calabacitas pero, quedé satisfecha con el resultado...

To make these little pumpkins took me some time but, I am satisfied of how they turned out...

Cada alfiletero está formado con hexágonos de 1.5 cms. de lado así que, tienen 10 cms. de diámetro, aproximadamente.

Every pincushion is formed by hexagons of 1.5 cms. per side so, every pincushion has 4 inches of diameter, approximately.
