RADIO SCRIPT Presenter: Hello and welcome to Voice FM this evening! The time is 6:02pm and the studio is full to the rim with the Road 2 Ejector Seat team. Would you like to introduce yourself?

Paige: Hi, Yes were from Ejector Seat Festival and Road 2 Ejector Seat, I’m Paige one of the Media relation’s officers and I’m helping to organiser and run Road 2 Ejector Seat…

Charla: Hi, Yeah I’m Charla, again a Media Relations Officer and helping with Road 2 Ejector Seat…

Mac: Yeah, and I’m Mac, and I’m currently organising this years festival.

Presenter: So just for people out there who don’t already know? Ejector Seat Festival… It’s a local based music festival right?

Mac: Yeah that’s right, but it’s for the arts as well so over the years we’ve had different live artists from sculptors, to fine artists as well as a Spoken Word Tent. So it’s a big free festival held in Palmerston Park, just advertising our local talent through the arts. It’s great for all the family as well as local students.

Paige: Yeah, it’s just a great event all round. Especially in this financial climate it’s great to have a local event put on for everyone to enjoy each year, and like Mac said it’s free to everyone to attend. I mean last year we had people who were just passing by but then we had people there for the whole day bringing their picnics and joining in with the activ ities and workshop or just sat in the sun listening to the music on the band stand stage.

Presenter: That’s great! I mean I’ve been there myself so I know what you mean it really is for anyone. But that’s not what your here to talk about are you? You’ve got a new pre-festival event starting soon? Can you tell us about that?

Charla: Yeah basically, Well Paige came up with a new strategy we wanted to use this year to get people involved and knowing about the festival before it happens. So ‘Road 2 Ejec tor Seat’ was created….

Paige: It’s a great event we’ve set up to showcase music acts and artists from the sur rounding local area, to basically compete against each with the winners being given a slot at this years Ejector Seat Festival. It’s a great way for us to find acts to play at the festi val but to also showcase their talent, even if they don’t get chosen.

Mac: The girls have worked really hard on the event, it’s going to be held on the 19th March in Bedford Place at 90 degrees, bands to start at 7.30pm and were also having a

gallery of work so people attending can vote to which one they think’s best. Brother Goose is headlining the event as well, and a local DJ will end the night and it’s free!! So anyone listening just come down on the day and enjoy yourself at this free event.

Presenter: And it’s live music, so even better?

Mac: Yeah that’s right. We have representatives from the venue ninety degrees as well as Southampton festivals coming down to help judge the entries as well. So it’s going to be a wide variety of genres to suit all. Generally a great night for anyone and you don’t have to pay to enter.

Presenter: So you want people to apply to compete yes?

Charla: Yes that’s right, firstly thanks to everyone who’s submitted so far, but we still need more people to send in their music, and their artwork. Links to sound cloud are fine, and then images of their artwork, with a brief description about themselves. Just send all of that to our e-mail at: info@ejectorseat.co.uk - The deadline is the 12th March so we want everyone to send their entries in ASAP so they have a chance to be consid ered to play at ‘Road 2 Ejector Seat’.

Presenter: So you heard it hear guys! If you’re a band, or you produce artwork of all varieties then send your applications off to them. We’ll post the information up on our website. You have a twitter account as well?

Paige: Yes you can follow us on @Road2Ejector, and that’s the number 2. We also have a facebook page, which is also ‘Road 2 Ejector Seat’ – so just make sure you follow this account for information leading up to the event. As well as images, interviews and film from the event itself.

Presenter: Thanks for coming in guys!

Paige/Charla/Mac: Thank you.

Presenter: So just to remind you, Road 2 Ejector Seat, the 19th March, 7.30pm at ninety degrees in Bedford Place… and get your entries in now to compete at info@ejectorseat.co.uk.
