Live the moment with GJS AND 100 PP

My monthly GJS wooden mini book project and it's a Summer Mixed Media mini book. No photos this time, just a lot of stamping,  stencilling, inks, mists and all possible mediums over the  wood with no... paper. Yes, there is no paper on this project and finally I can live without it.
So here is the cover of this Picket  Fence mini book.

Painted with a thin layer of crackled white paint (Ranger), dried and stamped with Spring Bouquet 100 Proof Press stamp. Dozen of times stamping over and over with black die ink only to get this flowered result. Then I  misted it with 3-4 mist from Ranger and Art Anthology.
Next I added FWAB Tree and grass, colored with brown alcohol ink randomly and just in the middle.
Oh, you don't want to see my fingers and nails after this treat!

Then I added a resin bird and a flower cluster and Tim Holtz metal plate with this " Life the moment" title.
Next page was stencilled with TCW ATC size stencil  and gel paste, misted and then I made this house with a lot of 100 PP stamping: Old Script, Butterfly  boy, Basic  Compass and a Cloud Speech bubble on the wood.

The third page was with the same stencilled technique  with gel, but another stencil pattern; all misted again and stamped just a bit with the very same stamps. I added FWAB fence (stamped with flowers over it) and misted some white Prima flowers to this mute vintage colors.

The last page: same mists, same stamps; Kaisercraft wooden clock, resin flower, stencilled background  and a lot of summer colors; Flower girls silhouette stamped on the  back.

And here is my back cover (I already posted a full tutorial  with step by step instructions for this page)

I hope you like my Mixed Media GJS  fence mini book.

Word art on wood : GJS tutorial

Hello, my dear GJS friends! Irit is here today and my small tutorial for you today will explain how to add titles and words over your wooden album page. I am pretty sure there are much more options, mediums and possibilities, but I just picked a few that were the good fit for this Fence wooden album page. All of my techniques are Mixed Media technique using different mediums. So let begin.

Intro: Take you old and forgotten stickers and adhere them to the wooden page. I used self- adhesive kind for my words Explore and Create, foam thickers for the word Hope. Then I made a die cut with Die- Versions Memories die and glued the negative only (this particular die doesn't have a bottom strip, so I just added a strip of a double sided glue to make the lower border.2 more die cut words (Die- Versions again) were added over and under the word Hope for 2 more different techniques to use.

And now for the techniques:

1. Clear embossing ink and heat embossing powder

Wipe the clear embossing pad over the word. Sprinkle the powder and heat emboss it. Peel off your letters. You can see a nice wooden word (will be colored later)

2. Black marker outline

Take a fine black permanent marker and outline the big letters inside and around. Any kind of big letters will work for this technique (chipboards, fabric, stickers etc). Peel off the foam letters and leave it as is (will be colored later)

3. Gel medium coverage

Pick a clear gel medium (I used Ranger) and cover the Love die cut generously over. Let it dry (long drying time) and peel off the stickers. You will get a nice texture that will be colored later.

4. Gesso over the stickers

Cover the Create word with a generous gesso layer and let it dry. This technique can be made with molding paste, black gesso, colored gesso or colored molding paste. Peel off the stickers for the future coloring.

5. Gesso over negative die cut

Make the same gesso coverage over the negative die cut of Memories and let it dry. Peel off the die and the glue strip. Can be made with black gesso, colored gesso, molding paste and any other thick medium.

And now when your wooden piece looks like this spray it with a mix of 2-3 mists to get a colored look as I did here. You sure can use watercolors, acrylic colors or any other color over this piece, but mists are fast and I just love to use them when I am short in time.

And here is my final finished piece: this will be backside cover of my new  Fence GJS album I am going to share later this month in this blog.(During the misting my word Think was to wet and kind of lost in the process)

See you again in a few weeks!

Family today mini album with GJS

Hello my dear crafty friends!
This is my monthly post for Genuinely Jane Studios and this time  it's my Family today mini album.
The house shaped mini was just perfect for my son's family photos and all pages inside are very simple (not  the cover), also I used a lot of dies over those pages.

All papers in this mini are from one single MME 6*6'' pad in 3 colors  only; all dies are from Die Versions. The tags are from Pretty Little Studio, wooden embellishments are LYB .
Here is my cover:
And some close ups to the title made with Tando Creative chipboard together with Tando gate.

And now for the inner pages

Please visit GJS blog and leave me some love there!

GJS AND CIP blog hop

Welcome to the Genuinely Jane Stuios(GJS)/Creative Inspirations Paint(CIP) Blog Hop! If you came from Dana's  blog then you are in the right place. If not, and you would like to start at the beginning, please head over to the Creative Inspirations Paint Blog Here

Before we get to the good stuff, let me give you a little info on each of these two awesome companies:

Genuinely Jane Studios manufactures small and medium size wood mini-albums for mixed media, scrapbooking and altered art in many shapes and sizes. All of the albums are hand made right on site in their Central Missouri facility. In addition to their albums, they also carry other art supplies in their online store.

Creative Inspirations Paint, our other company in this team up manufactures non-toxic, water based, translucent, shimmery paint that can be used for scrapbooking, card making, mixed media, altered art and more. They also carry embossing powders, glitter and UV resin. Using the paints is as simple as "Shake, Open and Play!" The paints are some of the most vivid you will find on the market and made in Washington State.

All of the designers from both teams have joined together to show you what can be created using the albums and paint! Be sure to check both the Genuinely Jane Studios and Creative Inspirations Paint websites to see all of the wonderful products!

And for me this blog hop is a kind of closure: for 2 terms I was a DT member for CIP and now I design for GJS , so I just feel great with both company's products.
Today I am going to show  you an art wall deco I made with GJS Cascade book. This book comes in 4 wooden pages , from small to bigger. So I decided to make 4 separate art pieces and to combine them to one single art piece in my new (yet not finished) craft room.
I  am still thinking about the proper arrangement of those pieces, but this is how  I feel it should be done.
Each piece has a word over it and all together say " ART IS NEVER PERFECT" -
I am pretty sure you agree with me. All pieces are made over wood, no paper at all, but masks, mists, gesso and a lot of CIP.

And now for a single pages of this art piece
Art page was made with Tando Creative mask, gesso and embossing gold powder over the mask. I stamped with VLVS! Film strip stamp and Explore word stamp and then painted the old chipboard letters with CIP.More paint was added around the piece. All together was misted with  some random mists (Ranger)

The second page  is " IS" page, smallest one of all 4.
Again I used Tando clock mask, gesso and heat embossing, VLVS! stamps and just outlined the old letter stickers.

The third page is my " Never " page and .... OK, same same. Mists, masks, stamps, paints, Same companies all over this project. Here I also added a huge CIP drops over the whole piece.

And the last one, the  largest and the most " artsy" one.

Do you see the real old paint brush here? I left it with a drops of CIP after I painted the Perfect title.
That's my project for this hop and I hope you like it as much as I do.
Like what you see? Well, guess what? There are a couple of great prizes being given away at the end of this hop by both companies!

GJS - Gift Certificate for Wood Albums valued at $25
CIP -

Celebrate childhood: GJS Arrow album

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Today I am going to show you my first project made as Genuinely Jane Studios DT member (I made a couple, but it was for product swap with my other teams as I didn't get my DT goodies till now).
So my  wooden mini album today is an Arrow one and I love this shape a lot: so trendy, so easy to cut and to cover with paper, so  easy to make it " any occasion" album.
I made this  mini album with my dear grandson's studio photos and the banners, colors and a cupcake in his hands were  my main inspiration for colors, patterns and embellishments of this mini.

I used Bo Bunny papers to cover all wooden pages; inked around and used stencils with white gesso  on every front page.
Here is my cover and I tried to keep it as flat as possible and with no success after all. I used this Art stencil from CWS over this cover, added a chipboard banner from Tando Creative covered with washi tapes and some K&Co due cuts.  My title was covered with glitter embossing powder and I added some more small home die cuts and blings.

The back sides of all pages are mostly photos and some washi tapes around. Now you can see the photo colors and banners and cupcake on the photo.

My second page front was stencilled with Artistcellar Seven Jewels stencil with  gesso and misted with Dylusions Lemon Zest  mist. Then I added those chipboard Tando cupcakes covered with Liquid Applique  brown paint and Art Anthology Sorbet Frost paint.A bit of chunky glitter and one red Dew Drop as a cherry were great finish for those cupcakes . The sticker sentiment is from Fancy Pants and is for " sweet" cupcake or other memories.

The second photo is very similar to the first.

My third front page is for " perfect": my grandson is such a perfect little guy.
Here I used CWS Numbers stencil and Calipso Teal Dylusions mist over a dark paper with one single BB 3d sticker as a title of the page.

Another photo was glued on the back.

The last front page: another Artistcellar stencil Flower of Life with Dylusions   Bubblegum pink mist and a chipboard Happy word covered with blue glitter.

So this was my lovely  Arrow mini album.
And if you want to make a very similar one, just go to GJS shop and pick your favorite shape. So easy, so fancy, so much fun to make one.
And for one more day there is 35% sale in the shop!  You need to see to believe as  those prices are  the best for all kinds of mediums, mists, inks ,GJS most gorgeous wooden mini albums and much much more!
And now for some web challenges I enter this project to:
Birthdays for Quick Quotes
Pearls - on the cover rings and huge ones- for Papernest dolls
 Stencils for Artastic
