Imaginarium GD post #3

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit Shalom is here again and this is my last post as Imaginarium September Guest Designer.

This time I worked with whatever chipboards left (lesson learned- try to keep more of products for the last post...). But then it was such a fun to make this last layout and I think it really tells a story of my dear 2 and something years old grandson Omer who already was 4 times abroad (even went to Thailand and Italy twice). Those are studio photos I used here, but they were so perfect  for those chipboard frames and a lot of travel stamping I added over the patterned paper.

I used 2 frames to frame 2 very similar photos  and even found the background paper that fits the photos brick background. Both frames were inked with blue distress ink. The criss cross frame was left inked only. The polaroid frame was also heate embossed with clear embossing powder and looks shiny.

I made the title from two different boards: Favorite came from photo frame and Moment  came from Capture Moment Smile board. Both words and two flourishes were painted with Gelatos and I didn't try to make it pretty: you still can see a lot of paint left " as is". I think it makes it unique. But then as this is water color kind of a paint I added some fixative over the chipboards.

The upper hearts piece was painted in the same way as the title, but then I added some blue paint and mixed it to a different look.
And here are some stamped embellishments I made for this page .All stamps are from Rubber Dance, most of them from Travel set, some from Something wonderful set and some from Collage sets. All together they just made the great add- on to this page.

I hope I inspired you a bit with my kind of scrapping and crafting.
I want to thank the  Imaginarium company and the team for letting me  to work with most gorgeous chipboards and hope  to be back again some day.

Imaginatium GD post #2

Hello my dear crafty friends!

This is Irit Shalom here again as Imaginarium September Guest Designer and this time I made an altered shabby style printers tray to showcase those gorgeous Imaginarium chipboards.
This is my son's small family (since those photos were taken they got another little girl into their family) and I decided to make it in this pastel shabby style.

This 7 Gypsies tray was dark brown and I just painted it to this dirty white color with a simple paint spray.
Most of the chipboard were added on the outer side of the frame. They are so beautiful to hide them inside.
So two larger ones framed the main photos: Window with lattice and shutters and Frame 1.
Both were covered with gesso, then heat embossed with white embossing powder and then misted with a light pink mist.I didn't try to make  the coverage perfect as this is this style where some bare spots are just welcome.

As I already used Capture Moments Smile inside chipboards for my two other  projects, I decided to use the negative as a mask with light pink colored gel medium over the patterned paper. And it worked great! What a nice use of all possible leftovers! Just try it on your projects too.

The oval frame was painted in the same way as two large photo frames and I used it for the partial title of this project with a chipboard word " Family" inked with distress ink and connected with a strip of glossy accents. This is my favorite way to connect letters : looks so much different and glues the letters perfectly.
The leaves with holes smaller piece was just  heat embossed with white powder and glued over the top of the oval frame.

And now for another " use everything " item: two negatives from Edward relief ornament were used as small photo frames. I added " Just for you" inked chipboard inside the first frame and framed a photo with an extra flourish under the frame in the second one.

The second part of my title , word " Forever" was made with upper and low single letters and as you can see for this word you really need to use both sets or to get doubles. Anyway I managed to make the word and as you can see glued it in the same " add the glossy accents line over" style.

Hope you like my altered tray and see you again with my last post as Imaginarium Guest Designer in a couple of weeks. Please visit Imaginarium blog for the full list of products used to make this project.

Imaginarium GD post #1

Hello my dear crafty friends!
This month I am doing a Guest Designing for Imaginarium chipboard company and this is my first post for them.

Here is a full post if you want to see all products and bio and  anything else.
My first project made with the most gorgeous Imaginarium chipboards: layout made with a lovely photos of my twin girls.
I know that maybe it's not so trendy layout  after all as on a scale of   Pocket scrapbooking  Project life style  on one edge and very messy and very artistic Mixed Media pages on the other one, this layout is a bit  " out of the date". But there are two main reasons for my scrapping in this style. First one is the meaning of scrapbooking itself. I believe that we scrap to tell a story so our family can remember it and  it works great with Project Life style that I don't like  and doesn't work at all with pure artistic Mixed Media style that I do like a lot, but as my altered projects. Then I believe that working with manufacturer products should make those products your page stars and it's totally impossible with all those tons of gesso, mists and paints when you do a very artistic page.So I made a close to classic page with one focal photo and a lot of Imaginarium chipboards as my main embellishments  and I think that this page tells a story and showcases the chipboards in the best possible way.

The clock face was inked with distress ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to give it this "water drops" look. The border long piece was inked with the same ink and left in this a bit distress way.

As you can see I made the " Simple things matter most" title and it's really the perfect title for my girls: they are so much connected in love and they are just two halves of  one unique creature called twins with all those small things that only they can understand.
Most of the chipboards used here were covered with embossing powders, but it a couple  of different ways.
The title was  covered with clear embossing ink and then  with a thick layer of white powder and pink powder was heat embossed over the basic white layer.

The butterflies added over the photo and near the title were covered with a mix of pastel embossing powders.
Then I decided to make the " art gallery wall" with hand cut  from patterned paper frames and made  the chipboards  display inside the frames. All words and shapes were inked with pigmented  light green ink and some of the pieces were glazed over with Glossy Accents.

Please come back in a week or so for another Imaginarium project .
