SALT Kitchen & Bath - Taylor Ferrell on Instagram: "Cheap vs. High-End Cabinets: What’s the Difference? 🤔🚪 Not the prettiest topic, but SO important if you’re investing in a kitchen! Let’s break it down: 🛑 Cheap Cabinets: ▪️ Made from MDF or particleboard—light, inexpensive, but not durable ▪️ Box construction: Held together with nails or staples (not very strong) ▪️ Hinges? Basic and noisy 😬 ✅ High-End Cabinets: ▪️ Built with solid plywood—strong, stable, and long-lasting ▪️ Box construction: Uses dowel joints & pocket screws = stays square for years ▪️ Soft-close hinges from Blum or Laich = smooth, quiet, and durable 💯 Investing in quality cabinets means fewer repairs, better functionality, and a kitchen that actually lasts! Vince The Kitchen Guy on Instagram: "Under a seating area on the back of an island is a great place for roll-out trays. (To clarify, this is getting doors put on it. Not leaving the roll-outs exposed.) Otherwise, you are on your hands and knees, crawling under the counter to reach what’s in those cabinets. Granted, those are usually items that you aren’t using that often and honestly a lot of kitchens I go back to after we finished have these cabinets pretty empty but everyone likes to know they have extra storage if they need it. These are for items you use not so often but having rollout trays makes it much easier to get in there. #kitchendesigntips #kitchendesigner #vincethekitchenguy #customcabinets #interiordesign #kitchencabinets #interiordesigner #diytips #kitchenmakeover #customkit

Karli Jones | design inspo + luxury dupes for less on Instagram: "inset-style cabinets without upgrading to true inset cabinets! I wanted inset cabinets so bad for our kitchen, but ultimately we took them off our design to cut down cost. We opted for European style cabinets which have no lip at the bottom, and even though it wasn’t inset, I was super happy with the design! What we didn’t catch, was that the upgraded light and outlet strip would now be COMPLETELY visible under the cabinet and not hidden like we intended. The only solution was to add a lip to our European style cabinets.. but the best part is that now they give the appearance of inset cabinets, without the cost. this is a super easy addition to your cabinets to give them an inset look! check out my stories for more
