We did it in late July and wildflowers were blooming. The Marmots, Mountain Goats, the waterfalls, the view of neighboring peaks and of course the Mt. Rainier itself, all added up to make a spectacular experience. This trail is 5.7 miles with 1768ft elevation gain. We did the loop clockwise for sunset.
