8.8K views · 1.3K reactions | This is one of my favorite ways to create a turned edge for appliqué. ❤️ (I think it’s called a faced technique.) I’m using a lightweight nonwoven fusible interfacing. My favorite one is Quilter’s Select Cutaway. It’s very sheer but strong and doesn’t tear easily. You can also use Pellon 907F which is similar. These hearts are about 2.5” and my favorite part is turning them right side out using a wide straw and a ballpoint bodkin. Once the hearts are made, you can fuse them onto your project and then appliqué by hand or machine. Hello again dear readers.....here's my vintage hearts quilt finally finished....... ........it was made a while ago, and i decided to hand quilt it which was very enjoyable...... .........now it's finished and perfect for autumn.....though this past week we had a mini heatwave here and quilts weren't needed for a few days...... ........i used many favourite scraps for both the patches and the appliqué hearts for this quilt, and chose ones with a vintage feel, or a vintage colour way…

A couple of weeks ago, I reached the point of no return and before I could embark on any more sewing the time had come to tidy my Sewing Room...to say it was a pit would be an understatement!
